NHL STADIUM SERIES – MAPLE LEAFS-CAPITALS – SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBC

The Maple Leafs and Capitals take it outside on Saturday night in primetime on NBC with both teams primed for playoff runs this spring. Last season, Washington defeated Toronto in a spirited first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series that lasted six games, in which five games required overtime. This marks the second of three meetings between the clubs this season. The Caps beat the Leafs, 4-2, in Toronto in November, propelled by a hat trick by Ovechkin.

Washington (35-20-7, 77 pts) is undefeated all-time in outdoor contests, having most recently topped the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2, in the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Nationals Park. The Capitals split their last four games and currently lead the Metropolitan Division, one point clear of Philadelphia (76 pts) and Pittsburgh (76 pts). Through 62 games, Ovechkin leads the NHL in goals with 38.

Toronto (39-20-5, 83 pts) has proven to be one of the league’s toughest outs in the month of February, with a league-best 10-2-0 record. Mitch Marner, who leads the team outright with 51 points, is tied for the fourth-most goals (8) in February along with 16 points. Phenom Auston Matthews, who leads the team with 28 goals, suffered a shoulder injury last week against the New York Islanders, and his status for Saturday’s game is unknown.

Five-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), former player, coach and general manager Mike Milbury (analyst), and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass analyst) will have the call of Maple Leafs-Capitals from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

The NHL on NBC studio team of Kathryn Tappen (host) and analysts Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones will anchor pre-game and intermission coverage on-site from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

FLYERS-CANADIENS – TONIGHT AT 7:30 P.M. ET

The Flyers (33-19-10, 76 pts) are 9-1-2 in February and carry a five-game winning streak into tonight’s game, currently one point behind Washington for top spot in the Metropolitan Division. Claude Giroux leads Philadelphia outright with 74 points and ranks second in goals (22).

The Canadiens (23-29-9, 55 pts) topped the Rangers, 3-1, on Thursday before losing 4-3 in a shootout to the Eastern Conference-leading Lightning on Saturday.

Jim Jackson (play-by-play) and Bill Clement (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call Flyers-Canadiens from Bell Centre.

BLUES-WILD – TOMORROW AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Wild (35-20-7, 77 pts) are 13-3-3 in the past 19 games and currently sit three points ahead of the Dallas Stars for third place in the Central Division. Veteran Eric Staal leads the team in both points (59) and goals (30) through 62 games.

The Blues (34-25-4, 72 pts) look to snap a six-game losing streak (0-5-1) tomorrow night in Minnesota. Vladimir Tarasenko ranks tied for first on the Blues in goals (24) and ranks second in points (53).

Ken Daniels (play-by-play) and Darren Pang (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

KINGS-GOLDEN KNIGHTS – TOMORROW AT 10:30 P.M ET ON NBCSN

The Kings (33-24-5, 71 pts) look to rebound from a two-game losing streak with back-to-back contests against the Knights. Edmonton narrowly edged Los Angeles, 4-3, on Sunday, as Dustin Brown’s would-be game-tying was overturned in the final seconds of the game.

The Western Conference-leading Knights (41-16-4, 86 pts) are 5-1-0 in their last six games. Vegas has outscored its opponents 28-14 in those contests. Jonathan Marchessault currently leads the team with 61 points.

Alex Faust (play-by-play) and Shane Hnidy (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY – RED WINGS-BLUES AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Red Wings (26-26-10, 62 pts) defeated the New York Rangers, 3-2, in overtime on Sunday for their second consecutive win. Through 62 games, Dylan Larkin leads the team with 46 points. The former division rivals last met in December, when St. Louis defeated Detroit by a score of 6-1 at Little Caesars Arena.

Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call Red Wings-Blues from Scottrade Center.

PENGUINS-BRUINS – THURSDAY AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Penguins (36-23-4, 76 pts) saw their six-game winning streak snapped in a 6-5 defeat to the Florida Panthers on Saturday. Evgeni Malkin, who netted two goals in the loss, leads the team in both goals (36) and points (76).

The Bruins (37-15-8, 82 pts) reeled off two consecutive wins before dropping a pair of contests to Toronto and Buffalo over the weekend. Boston currently sits just five points behind Eastern Conference-leading Tampa Bay, and made a trade deadline splash with the acquisition of Rick Nash on Sunday.

Gord Miller (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from TD Garden in Boston.

BLACKHAWKS-SHARKS – THURSDAY AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Blackhawks (27-28-8, 62 pts) have won three of their last five contests. Through 63 games, Patrick Kane leads the unit in both points (58) and goals (23).

The Sharks (33-21-9, 75 pts) look to rebound from three straight losses, including a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Wild on Sunday.

Randy Hahn (play-by-play) and Bret Hedican (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

RED WINGS-WILD – SUNDAY AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

This marks the second contest between the Wild and Red Wings this season. Detroit defeated Minnesota, 4-2, on Oct. 5. Larkin and Henrik Zetterberg each netted a goal.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
