STAMFORD, Conn. – February 21, 2018 PyeongChang medal winners Mikaela Shiffrin (gold in giant slalom) and Lindsey Vonn (bronze in yesterday’s downhill) headline tonight’s primetime coverage live across all time zones on NBC begins at 8 p.m. ET.  Shiffrin and Vonn are expected to contend for medals in the women’s super combined. The downhill run will take place in primetime, with the slalom run airing in “Primetime Plus,” beginning at 11:35 p.m. ET.

Live at 10:45 p.m. ET on NBCSN, Team USA continues its rivalry in women’s ice hockey in the gold medal game against Team Canada. Two-time Olympic silver medalist Hilary Knight, captain Meghan Duggan, and 2017 world championship MVP Brianna Decker look to avenge a 3-2 overtime loss to Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Canada defeated the U.S. earlier in the Olympic tournament, 2-1.

Live NBC primetime coverage also features the finals in men’s freestyle halfpipe, as well as the first run of men’s slalom, with the final run airing in “Primetime Plus.” Aaron Blunck, 2017 X Games winner and world champion, leads the U.S. in the men’s freestyle halfpipe with the top qualifying score, followed by Alex Ferreira and 2014 Olympian Torin Yater-Wallace in second and third. David Wise, the defending Olympic gold medalist, is also expected to be a top threat.

Primetime coverage also includes the women’s team sprint in cross-country skiing as Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall look to win the United States’ first-ever women’s Olympic medal in the sport. Coverage also includes the final runs of women’s bobsled as 2014 Olympic silver medalist Elana Meyers Taylor and 2014 Olympic bronze medalist Jamie Greubel Poser look to land on the podium again.

Today’s daytime coverage on NBC begins at 3 p.m. ET, and features Simi Hamilton and Andy Newell competing in the men’s team sprint in cross-country skiing. Coverage also includes the team pursuit finals in speed skating. Heather Bergsma and Brittany Bowe look to give the U.S. its first women’s speed skating medal since 2002.

NBCSN’s coverage continues at 7 p.m. ET with Liam McHugh and 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White hosting Olympic Ice alongside analyst and 1984 Olympic figure skating gold medalist Scott Hamilton. The hour-long studio show previews Thursday’s ladies’ free skate while also providing viewers with analysis and highlights of the previous competitions.

CNBC continues its daily Olympic curling coverage, as Wisconsin-born skip Nina Roth leads the U.S. women’s team against Sweden at 5 p.m. ET, with the Americans still in the hunt for a semifinal berth.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22

Ladies’ figure skating highlights Thursday’s live primetime coverage on NBC and NBCSN beginning at 8 p.m. ET as reigning U.S. champion Bradie Tennell leads the Americans, joined by 2010 Olympian Mirai Nagasu, who became the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics earlier at these Games, and 2017 U.S. champion Karen Chen. The gold medal will likely come down to a duel between two-time reigning world champion Yevgenia Medvedeva and her 15-year-old training partner Alina Zagitova, competing as Olympic Athletes from Russia.

Primetime coverage on NBC also showcases several short track finals including men’s 500m, women’s 1000m, and men’s 5000m relay. South Korea boasts a number of podium contenders, including Choi Min-Jeong and Shim Suk-Hee. Coverage of short track also airs earlier in the day at 7:45 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Thursday’s “Primetime Plus” coverage on NBC starts at 12:35 a.m. ET, with the women’s ski cross final.

Thursday’s daytime coverage on NBC begins at 3 p.m. ET, highlighted by Nordic combined’s team event and biathlon’s women’s 4x6km relay. Coverage of Nordic combined also airs earlier in the day on NBCSN, with live coverage of the men’s team large hill at 2:30 am. ET and live coverage of the men’s team 4x5km at 5:20 a.m. ET.

  • Alpine Skiing – The alpine women’s super combined event is expected to feature Americans Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin, beginning with a downhill run. Having already claimed two gold medals at these Games, Austria’s Marcel Hirscher is the favorite to claim a third in men’s slalom (run 1 of 2).
  • Freestyle Skiing – Freestyle skiing coverage includes the men’s halfpipe final, where defending Olympic champion David Wise is a threat to return to the top of the podium. The U.S. boasts the top three qualifiers heading into the final.
  • Bobsled – The women’s bobsled podium in PyeongChang could feature the same pilots as in Sochi – Team USA’s Elana Meyers Taylor (silver) and Jamie Greubel Poser (bronze), plus Meyers Taylor’s best friend, training mate and two-time defending Olympic gold medalist Kaillie Humphries of Canada.
  • Cross-Country Skiing – The American team, which includes Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall, enters the team sprint as a medal favorite. The U.S. women’s team has never won an Olympic medal in cross-country skiing.

 

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Daytime):

  • Speed Skating – Team pursuit finals offer the powerful Dutch a shot at two speed skating gold medals. Japan is the favorite in the women’s event, while New Zealand, with just one Winter Olympic medal entering PyeongChang, has podium potential in the men’s. The U.S. women qualified for the semifinal round and could be in contention.
  • Cross-Country Skiing – A U.S. line-up featuring several strong and experienced freestyle sprinters has dark-horse potential in the men’s team sprint event.

 

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Primetime Plus):

  • Alpine Skiing – The alpine women’s super combined event is expected to feature Americans Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin, continuing with a slalom run. He will be joined by co-host Tanith White and analyst Scott Hamilton for in-depth coverage of all things figure skating, including a look-ahead to tomorrow’s highly anticipated ladies’ free skate.
  • Hockey – The women’s hockey tournament concludes with the gold medal final between the U.S. and Canada. The American team hasn’t won gold since the inaugural women’s tournament in 1998, while Canada has claimed four-straight gold medals. Also, the elimination-round in men’s hockey continues with two quarterfinal games, first between Olympic Athletes from Russia and Norway followed by Canada and Finland. Game of the Day features the men’s quarterfinal between Team USA and the Czech Republic.

  • Curling – In the last women’s curling round-robin match for each team, the U.S. takes on Sweden, hoping to make it to the semifinal round.

  • Alpine Skiing – In the Olympic debut of the Alpine team event, nations compete in a bracket-style format featuring head-to-head slalom races (two men and two women per round).
  • Bobsled – The four-man Bobsled event gets underway as Germany looks to confirm its favorite status (runs 1 and 2).
  • Speed Skating – In Speed Skating, the men’s 1000m features two-time Olympic gold medalist Shani Davis and his U.S. teammate Joey Mantia taking on the dominant Dutch.
