WOMEN’S SHORT TRACK – NBCSN

Play-by-play commentator Ted Robinson on Maame Biney maneuvering to prevent an opponent from passing her: “That was a fantastic move by Maame Biney. She may have just turned 18 years old two weeks ago, but she pulled off a veteran move there to hold off that pass.”

Analyst Apolo Anton Ohno added: “She did. The one thing that she had to do was make sure she could stick on Fan Kexin from China, as close as possible, and make sure she could protect the inside position from Kim A-Lang from South Korea.”

Play-by-play commentator Todd Harris on Canadian snowboarder Max Parrot: “He is definitely a contender and a threat to win gold in the slopestyle and Big Air.”

Richards on Parrot advancing on to the men’s slopestyle final: “He knows what he wants and he went out there and he got it. It’s crazy how confident he is.”

MIXED DOUBLES CURLING – NBCSN

Analyst Jamie Sinclair on Becca and Matt Hamilton’s mixed doubles match against Norway: “The tides have turned. Things have started to go in Team USA’s favor. This is turning out to be a great game for them…It’s great to see their energy back, their spirits are up, feeling confident and in control of this game.”

Jake Higgs, USA Curling’s high performance director for mixed doubles, on Becca and Matt Hamilton using their mixed doubles experience in the upcoming men’s and women’s tournaments: “Of course, you want them to build on what’s going on right now because even if the mixed doubles isn’t going to work out, which I don’t think it’s going to mathematically, we still have them playing in the men’s and women’s tournaments coming up. We want them to gain some momentum, so other teams can feed off of that and do well.”

MEN’S ALPINE SKIING DOWNHILL – NBCSN

Reporter Steve Porino on Switzerland race skier Carlo Janka: “He is skiing without an ACL. He did not in fact qualify for this Swiss team, but because of his pedigree – an overall World Cup champion – his coach said, ‘Yes, you can come, but when you show up on this training run, if you’re not among the very fastest you will not race in the downhill.’ But Janka knows very well he doesn’t want to race unless he is medal-ready.”

MEN’S SKI JUMPING – NBCSN

Play-by-play commentator Paul Burmeister on German ski jumper Andreas Wellinger’s gold medal winning jump: “You know you’ve done well when the green light is shining on the back of your legs as you pass it by.”

Analyst A.J. Mleczko added: “And with that (fourth) goal, she ties the Olympic record with two other people – Sweden’s Pernilla Winberg, and her Swiss teammate Stefanie Marty.”
