NBC Sports Boston’s Michael Felger & NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Michael Barkann to Co-Host Special Live Show from Stadium in Minneapolis Leading up to Kickoff with Boston Guests Troy Brown, Jerod Mayo, Tom E. Curran & Albert Breer; and Philly Guests Barrett Brooks, Derrick Gunn, Ray Didinger & Seth Joyner

BURLINGTON, MA & PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 31, 2018 – The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will go head to head in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, February 4th, and NBC Sports Boston and NBC Sports Philadelphia are teaming up to bring viewers the most unique look and varied perspectives of the game in a live one-hour special leading up to kick-off titled “Philly vs. Boston” on Super Bowl Sunday at 5PM/ET on both networks.

“Philly vs. Boston” — presented locally in Boston by Cumberland Farms and locally in Philadelphia by Wawa — will bring viewers a unique perspective in the final hour leading up to the Super Bowl from both Boston’s and Philly’s on-air talent.  The show will be co-hosted by NBCSB’s Michael Felger and NBCSP’s Michael Barkann, with various Boston/Philly duos joining them throughout the hour including: Troy Brown & Barrett Brooks; Tom E. Curran & Derrick Gunn; Albert Breer & Ray Didinger; and Jerod Mayo & Seth Joyner.  The talent will debate their counterparts from the opposing city on who has the best/worst fans, Spygate, who will take home the title and more.

As part of the lead up to the show, Felger and Barkann will be competing throughout the week and weekend in various fun and friendly “competitions”, including a soccer shoot-out, a hockey shoot-out and go-kart racing. The competitions, which will take place at SMAAASH at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN, will be available to viewers across both networks’ social media channels (@NBCSBoston & @NBCSPhilly) beginning today (Wednesday 1/31), culminating in a “winner” being announced on the “Philly vs. Boston” show on Sunday.

In the spirit of competition, the NBC Sports Boston and NBC Sports Philadelphia General Managers have placed a friendly “wager” on the big game.  If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, then NBC Sports Philadelphia will graciously buy Boston Staff breakfast on Parade Day from local Boston show sponsor Cumberland Farms; and if the Eagles win the Super Bowl, then NBC Sports Boston will graciously buy Philly breakfast on Parade Day from local Philly show sponsor Wawa.  The “losing” network will also make a contribution to the charity of the winning GM’s choosing.
