STAMFORD, Conn. – January 15, 2018 – NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry travels to Boston this week, as David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins host Max Pacioretty and the Montreal Canadiens at 7:30 p.m. ET. Pre-game coverage begins with NHL Live at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Canadiens-Bruins on Wednesday Night Rivalry kicks off a doubleheader on NBCSN, followed by a matchup between Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ryan Getzlaf and the Anaheim Ducks at 10 p.m. ET.
This week’s NHL coverage on NBCSN begins tonight when the Canadiens host John Tavares the New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m. ET, and continues on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, as Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers visit Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers.
Coverage continues on Thursday with a doubleheader, as Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres visit the Rangers at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by a matchup between Crosby and the Penguins and Anze Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings at 10 p.m. ET. NBCSN’s coverage this week concludes on Friday, when the Anaheim Ducks host the Los Angeles Kings at 10 p.m. ET. The action shifts over to NBC on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, as Giroux and the Flyers face off against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

Pre-game coverage of NHL Live on NBCSN begins an hour prior to puck drop this week. Kathryn Tappen anchors studio coverage on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday alongside analysts and former players Jeremy Roenick, Keith Jones and Mike Rupp. Liam McHugh will be joined alongside Eddie Olczyk, Roenick and NHL insider Bob McKenzie for coverage of Wednesday Night Rivalry. Paul Burmeister anchors studio coverage on Friday alongside Roenick. McHugh will be joined in-studio on Sunday alongside Roenick and Jones for NBC’s coverage of Flyers-Capitals.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY – CANADIENS-BRUINS AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Canadiens (18-20-5, 41 pts) split their last four games, but collected a point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Bruins on Saturday. Montreal defeated Vancouver, 5-2, and Tampa Bay, 2-1, prior to Saturday’s defeat.
The Bruins (24-10-7, 55 pts) are 9-0-2 in their last 11 games, with their only losses coming in overtime to the Penguins and in a shootout to the Capitals, respectively. Brad Marchand scored the decisive shootout goal in Boston’s 4-3 win over Montreal on Saturday.
Kenny Albert (play-by-play), former player, coach and general manager Mike Milbury (analyst), and Keith Jones (analyst) will call Canadiens-Bruins from TD Garden in Boston.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTCAP – PENGUINS-DUCKS AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Penguins (24-19-3, 51 pts) are 5-1-0 in their last five contests and have outscored their opponents 24-13 during the stretch. Evgeni Malkin had two goals and two assists in Pittsburgh’s 4-1 win over Detroit on Saturday, and Phil Kessel recorded his 700th career point against the Rangers on Sunday to give the Penguins their fourth consecutive victory.
The Ducks (20-15-9, 49 pts) defeated the Kings, 4-2, on the road on Saturday, to move within two points of the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Ondrej Kase scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season in the victory. Anaheim faces Colorado on Monday.
John Forslund (play-by-play) and Brian Hayward (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call Penguins-Ducks from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
FLYERS-CAPITALS – SUNDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBC
The Capitals (28-14-3, 59 pts) lead the Metropolitan Division and are 4-1-0 in the month of January. Alex Ovechkin leads the NHL with 28 goals, and his 49 points rank first among his teammates. This marks the second meeting of the season between the Flyers and Caps. Philadelphia defeated Washington 8-2 in its home opener, as Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, and Jakub Voracek combined for 10 points in the win.
Chris Cuthbert (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
ISLANDERS-CANADIENS – TONIGHT AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Islanders (22-18-4, 48 pts) defeated the Rangers, 7-2, on Saturday. Rookie Matthew Barzal recorded two goals and three assists in the victory, marking his second five-point game of the year, and is the only player in the league with two five-point games this season. Barzal leads all NHL rookies with 44 points (15g/29a) this season.
Brendan Burke (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
FLYERS-RANGERS – TOMORROW AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Flyers (20-15-8, 48 pts) have won four straight games and have outscored their opponents 21-11 during that stretch. Philadelphia defeated New Jersey, 5-3, on Saturday, as Sean Couturier tallied two goals and an assist.
The Rangers (22-17-5, 49 pts) look to bounce back from a three-game losing streak after winning two of their first three games at the start of January. Through 44 games, Michael Grabner leads the team with 19 goals.

SABRES-RANGERS – THURSDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Sabres (11-24-9, 31 pts) defeated the Blue Jackets on Thursday, 3-1, to snap a five-game losing streak. Jack Eichel recorded his 18th goal of the season and Linus Ullmark made 44 saves in his first start of the season.
Gord Miller (play-by-play) and Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
PENGUINS-KINGS – THURSDAY AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Kings (24-14-5, 53 pts) look to end a three-game losing streak against the Sharks on Monday. Through 43 games, Anze Kopitar is tied for the team lead in goals (18) and paces the club with 45 points.
Forslund (play-by-play) and Jim Fox (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
KINGS-DUCKS – FRIDAY AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
Friday’s game marks the fourth of five meetings between the rival Kings and Ducks. The Kings won the first matchups, but the Ducks responded with a 4-2 win in Los Angeles last Saturday. Forslund (play-by-play) and Hayward (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
COLLEGE HOCKEY – WISCONSIN-NOTRE DAME – SUNDAY AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
NBCSN’s 2017-18 college hockey coverage continues Friday with a Big Ten clash between top-ranked Notre Dame and Wisconsin. The No. 1 Fighting Irish (18-3-1) have won 15 straight games, including consecutive wins against Michigan earlier this month. Jake Evans leads the team with 28 points. The Badgers (11-11-3) split their most recent series against Michigan State (Jan. 12-13).
