STAMFORD, Conn. – January 8, 2018 – NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry travels to the Windy City this week, as Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild visit Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Pre-game coverage begins with NHL Live at 7 p.m. ET.

This week’s NHL coverage on NBCSN begins tomorrow night with a Western Conference clash, as 2016-17 NHL MVP Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers visit P.K. Subban and the defending Western Conference champion Nashville Predators at 8 p.m. ET.

Coverage concludes on Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, as Dylan Larkin and the Red Wings travel to Chicago to face the Blackhawks. The action shifts to NBCSN at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Sidney Crosby and the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins host Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app — NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs — will provide live streaming coverage of this week’s NHL action.

Pre-game coverage of NHL Live on NBCSN begins an hour prior to puck drop on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 30 minutes prior to puck drop on Sunday night. Kathryn Tappen anchors studio coverage on Tuesday alongside analysts and former players Keith Jones and Anson Carter. Liam McHugh will be joined by Colby Armstrong, Jones and NHL insider Bob McKenzie for coverage of Wednesday Night Rivalry. McHugh and Tappen will anchor studio coverage on Sunday alongside Jones, Mike Milbury, and Carter. Post-game coverage on NHL Overtime will air on NBCSN immediately following this week’s games.

 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY – WILD-BLACKHAWKS AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Wild (22-17-3, 47 pts) are 4-2-0 in their last six games and rattled off two straight wins last week before falling to the Avalanche, 7-2, on Saturday. Minnesota outscored Florida and Buffalo 11-3, respectively, in their two most recent victories. Parise returned from back surgery on Tuesday against the Panthers to play in his first game this season. The Wild host the Flames tomorrow.

The Blackhawks (20-15-6, 46 pts) have won two of their last three games, including a 4-1 victory over the Oilers on Sunday. Kane leads the team in both goals (17) and points (40) through 41 games. Chicago visits Ottawa tomorrow.

Five-time Emmy Award winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), former player, coach and general manager Mike Milbury (analyst), and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call Wild-Blackhawks from United Center in Chicago.

 

OILERS-PREDATORS – TOMORROW AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Oilers (18-22-3, 39 pts) look to rebound from a two-game losing streak after defeating the Ducks, 2-1, in a shootout on Thursday. McDavid leads Edmonton with 47 points through 43 games.

Nashville (24-11-6, 54 pts) defeated Los Angeles on Saturday, 4-3, to secure its first win in three games. Subban assisted on two goals and Pekka Rinne made 26 saves to notch his 20th win of the season, which ranks tied for fifth in the NHL.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

 

RED WINGS-BLACKHAWKS – SUNDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

The Red Wings (17-17-7, 41 pts.) saw their four-game winning streak snapped on Sunday in a 5-2 defeat to the Eastern Conference-leading Lightning. Larkin currently leads the club in points (34), while teammates Anthony Mantha and Gustav Nyquist (14) are tied for first in goals.

Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Ray Ferraro (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from United Center in Chicago.

 

RANGERS-PENGUINS – SUNDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Rangers (22-15-5, 49 pts) split their last four games, with wins coming against the Coyotes and Sabres, respectively. New York fell to the Golden Knights, 2-1, on Sunday in Las Vegas. Mats Zuccarello leads the Rangers in points (31), and teammate Michael Grabner’s 18 goals rank first on the team and tied for 12th in the NHL.

The Penguins (22-19-3, 47 pts) enter the week following a wild 6-5 overtime victory against the Bruins on Sunday night on NBCSN. Evgeni Malkin netted the game-winner in overtime and Crosby added three assists to improve the Penguins’ record to 3-1-0 over their last four games. Pittsburgh has combined for 15 goals over their last four contests. Phil Kessel (47) and Crosby (43) currently rank first and second on the team in points.
