STAMFORD, Conn. – December 13, 2017 – NBC’s Sunday Night Football features two teams in the playoff chase, as Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys travel to Oakland, Calif., to face Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders at Oakland Alameda Coliseum. Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. ET, on NBC.
Both teams enter Sunday vying for a playoff berth with three games left in the regular season. The Cowboys (7-6) kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Giants on Sunday, and are currently a game back in the hunt for the final NFC Wild Card spot. Despite losing to the Chiefs on Sunday, the Raiders are only one game off the lead in the AFC West. After Dallas, Oakland faces Philadelphia and San Diego over the final two weeks of the season.
The Cowboys won their second consecutive game on Sunday, a 30-10 victory over NFC East rival New York. Prescott finished 20-of-30 for a career-high 332 yards and three touchdowns, bringing his season total to 21. According to Pro Football Focus, Prescott’s 112.8 passer rating when blitzed ranks third in the NFL. Wide receiver Dez Bryant caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Prescott in the second quarter to become just the third player in team history to record 10 catches of 50 yards or more in a career (Pro Football Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Bob Hayes).
Carr completed 24-of-41 passes for 211 yards and one touchdown in Oakland’s loss to Kansas City to extend his touchdown streak to 14 games. With his performance, Carr surpassed 14,000 career passing yards to become just the 10th player in NFL history to do so in his first four seasons. According to Pro Football Focus, Carr has the quickest average snap to pass time in the NFL at 2.31 seconds. Running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown. Since Week 9, Lynch is tied for the league-lead with five rushing scores.
Oakland currently leads the overall series, 6-5, while Dallas has won the last two meetings. The two franchises last met on a Sunday night 30 years ago (Nov. 15, 1987), a game the Raiders won 40-38.
Calling Cowboys-Raiders are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 32nd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.

Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by Mike Tirico, who will report on-site from Oakland Alameda Coliseum, and Dan Patrick, who will host from Studio 1 at NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Patrick is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com and PFT Live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Radio. Week 15 kicks off tomorrow on NBC with an AFC matchup, as Von Miller and the Denver Broncos travel to Indianapolis to face Frank Gore and the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Thursday Night Football. Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. ET with Football Night in Indianapolis on NBC, the only network with two primetime NFL packages. NBC will utilize its SkyCam system as the primary-viewing angle for live game coverage. NBC will have its full complement of TNF cameras and will revert to traditional coverage when situations dictate, but the primary viewing experience of the game will come from the SkyCam angle.
On Saturday, two-time NFL MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner joins Mike Tirico and sideline reporter Heather Cox for an NFC North matchup between Chicago and Detroit. The NBC Sports-produced coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. ET exclusively on NFL Network.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BUS RETURNS FOR 2017 NFL SEASON
NBC Sports Group’s Sunday Night Football bus returns this season to travel the country, visiting the host cities of select Sunday Night Football games. The bus will bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy to various SNF locations, before arriving at its final destination, Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, Minn., in February. Fans will get a closer look at behind-the-scenes action of SNF broadcasts on the bus, which will take fans from the field, to the studio and in the production trucks. Features of the bus include an, a replica of the Football Night in America desk, highlights wall, the ability to see what it’s like to be a camera person through four different camera views, and more.
The bus will arrive in each city two to three days prior to the game, making stops at local landmarks and events before heading to the game site. Once at the stadium, the Sunday Night Football bus will give fans the opportunity to interact with America’s most-watched primetime television show with exclusive activities.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 10-15 and 17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-9, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-15, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday nights.
A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 1. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
