NBC Sports Group Presents 15 Hours of Coverage of Grand Prix France, Fifth Event in 2017 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series

13.5 Hours of Live Coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA Begins Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m. ET with the Ladies’ Short Program

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 16, 2017 – This weekend, NBC Sports Group presents 15 hours of coverage of Grand Prix France from Grenoble, France, including 13.5 hours of live coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. The event is the fifth competition in the 2017 International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

Live coverage begins tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA with the short programs, continuing with the free skates on Saturday, Nov. 18, starting at 7:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. NBCSN presents coverage of the event this Sunday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 p.m. ET.

2017 world silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan and Javier Fernandez of Spain, who has won two of the last three world titles, highlight the men’s international skaters, while 2017 world junior champion Vincent Zhou and 2015 Skate America champion Max Aaron represent the U.S. men’s contingent. 2017 world silver medalist Kaetlyn Osmond of Canada and 2017 world junior champion Alina Zagitova of Russia highlight the ladies’ event. 2014 Olympian Polina Edmunds will make her Grand Prix season debut as the lone American in the ladies’ competition. Reigning world bronze medalists Yevgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov of Russia headline the pairs’ field, while France’s two-time world champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are expected to lead in ice dance. 2015 U.S. champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates will also compete in ice dance.

Andrea Joyce calls the NBCSN show, alongside 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir. Steve Schlanger calls all of the action on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, alongside 1988 Olympic bronze medalist Tracy Wilson. Schlanger will be joined by 2014 Olympic ice dance champion Charlie White for the ice dance competitions.

The Grand Prix Series, now in its 23rd season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Approximately 300 athletes from 25 countries are expected to participate in the series. Each athlete is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2017 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 7-10, in Nagoya, Japan. Uno, Zagitova, Osmond, Tarasova/Morozov and Papadakis/Cizeron can all secure trips to the Grand Prix Final with podium finishes this week in Grenoble.
