New York defeated the Florida Panthers on Saturday in overtime by a score of 5-4, led by a two-goal performance from defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. Five Rangers have tallied at least 10 points through 15 games, including Shattenkirk, who also ranks tied for fifth in points among all NHL defensemen. New York hosts Columbus tonight.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTCAP – LIGHTNING-SHARKS AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Lightning boast the best record in the NHL (11-2-2), led by captain Steven Stamkos, who currently leads the NHL in points (25) and assists (18) after missing most of last season due to a knee injury. Teammate Nikita Kucherov leads the league in goals (14) and is second in points (23) behind Stamkos. Stamkos scored in regulation and netted the game-winner in the shootout, as Tampa Bay defeated Columbus, 5-4, on Saturday.

The Sharks are winners of five of their last six games, including a 4-1 victory over the Western Conference champion Predators on Wednesday. Logan Couture leads the team in both points (12) and goals (eight) through 13 games.

Randy Hahn (play-by-play) and Brian Engblom (analyst) have the call of Lightning-Sharks from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

CAPITALS-SABRES – TOMORROW AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Tom Wilson netted his first two goals of the season on Saturday, as the Capitals topped the Bruins, 3-2, to earn their second consecutive win. Through 14 games, Ovechkin and linemate Evgeny Kuznetsov lead the team in points (16), while Ovechkin’s 11 goals rank third in the NHL.

Buffalo looks to rebound from a 5-1 loss against Dallas on Saturday, just two days after defeating Arizona, 5-4. The Sabres’ tandem of Evander Kane and Eichel has combined for 26 points, 11 goals and 15 assists in 14 games.

Gord Miller (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) provide commentary of Capitals-Sabres tonight at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

Kopitar has paved the way for Los Angeles’ offense this season with a team-leading 17 points and seven goals.

The Ducks look to rebound from a three-game losing streak that continued on Saturday against the Sharks. It marked the 900th career game for Perry, who scored his third goal of the season in Anaheim’s 2-1 shootout loss to San Jose.
