STAMFORD, Conn. – October 16, 2017 – This week’s coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA – a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, and NBCUniversal – is highlighted by 14 hours of live coverage from the 2017 Grand Prix Russia, the first Grand Prix figure skating event of the Olympic season.
In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will highlight the start of the Olympic season with a presentation of the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships free skates in all four disciplines, beginning tonight at 8 p.m. ET with the free dance, airing through Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
This week’s event coverage also features the World Archery Championships from Mexico City on Saturday at 11 p.m. ET, and the third event of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season from Koksijde, Belgium, beginning on Sunday live at 7:30 a.m. ET.

Following are highlights from this week’s programming on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA:
ISU GRAND PRIX FIGURE SKATING – LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS FRIDAY AT 7 A.M. ET
Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents 14 hours of live coverage of the 2017 Grand Prix Russia beginning this Friday, October 20, at 7 a.m. ET, with the short competitions from Moscow. Coverage of the event continues throughout the weekend, with the free competitions on Saturday starting at 6:30 a.m. ET. NBC will also present encore coverage on Sunday at Noon ET.
The men’s field features a compelling early season match-up between 2017 U.S. champion Nathan Chen, the technically advanced teenager who is pushing the sport forward with his quadruple jumping ability, and 2014 Olympic gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan, the reigning world champion who is aiming to defend his Olympic title in 2018. The Olympic gold medal favorite on the ladies’ side, two-time reigning world champion Yevgenia Medvedeva from Russia, will also compete in Moscow, where 2010 Olympian Mirai Nagasu and 2017 U.S. bronze medalist Mariah Bell will lead the American effort. U.S. siblings and three-time world medalists Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani will compete in ice dance.
Andrea Joyce calls the action on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, alongside 2011 U.S. figure skating champion Ryan Bradley. Joyce will be joined by 2014 Olympic ice dance champion Charlie White for the ice dance competitions.
OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA RELIVES 2017 WORLD FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS – TONIGHT AT 8 P.M. ET
Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will highlight the start of the Olympic season with a presentation of the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships free skates in all four disciplines this week, beginning tonight at 8 p.m. ET and airing in primetime each night through Thursday.
Coverage begins with the free dance as siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani collected their second consecutive medal at the World Championships with the third-place finish, followed by the men’s free skate on Tuesday, which saw American Nathan Chen finish sixth in his World Championships debut. Coverage continues Wednesday with the pairs’ free skate, and concludes on Thursday with the ladies’ free skate where Americans Karen Chen and Ashley Wagner finished in the top seven to secure three spots for Team USA in Pyeongchang. All disciplines will air at 8 p.m. ET.
WORLD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS – BEGINS SATURDAY AT 11 P.M. ET
Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA’s coverage of the World Archery Championships from Mexico City begins this Saturday, October 21, at 11 p.m. ET. Coverage of the World Archery Championships first airs on NBCSN at 10 p.m. ET.
Saturday’s compound-match coverage is highlighted by Americans Braden Gellenthien, who won the World Cup event in Rome in September, and Cassidy Cox. Coverage continues on Sunday with the recurve competition at 10:30 p.m. ET, as three-time Olympic medalist Brady Ellison goes for his second world title and 2016 Olympian Mackenzie Brown leads the U.S. women.
UCI CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP – BEGINS SUNDAY AT 7:30 A.M. ET
Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents live coverage of the third stop of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season from Koksijde, Belgium, this Sunday, October 15, at 7:30 a.m. ET with the women’s elite, followed by the men’s elite at 9 a.m. ET. Cyclo-Cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt.
After two World Cup races Dutch rider Mathieu Van der Poel leads the men’s standings; while Belgium’s Sanne Cant leads the women’s rankings, with Americans Kaitlin Keough and Katherine Compton in sixth and seventh, respectively.
