NFL

NBC Sports continues its presentation of Sunday Night Football this weekend as Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins (1-1) host Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders (2-0) at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., in what will be just the second primetime game between the two storied franchises since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger (10/19/70). Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, September 24, at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Both teams enter Week 3 coming off wins this past Sunday. Cousins led Washington to a 27-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams with an 11-yard, go-ahead touchdown pass to RB Ryan Grant with one minute and 49 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Carr powered Oakland to a 45-20 win over the New York Jets, completing 23-of-28 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns – all three to WR Michael Crabtree.

Calling Raiders-Redskins’ are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 32nd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.

Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by Mike Tirico, who will report on-site from FedEx Field, and Dan Patrick, who will host from Studio 1 at NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Patrick is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com and PFT Live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Radio. Paul Burmeisterwill report from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., on the Seahawks-Titans game.

 

NASCAR

NBC Sports Group surrounds this weekend’s NASCAR Playoff races with more than 17 hours of NASCAR Cup Series coverage from New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, and XFINITY Series coverage from Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. NBC Sports Group’s live race coverage begins Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with the first race of the 2017 XFINITY Series Playoffs from Kentucky Speedway. Coverage culminates Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with the second race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs from New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

In addition to live television coverage on NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR action.

NBCSN kicks off its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coverage from New Hampshire Motor Speedway this Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET with first practice, followed by qualifying at 5 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s coverage begins at 9 a.m. ET on CNBC with second practice, followed by final practice at 11:30 a.m. ET on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. In addition, local coverage will be available on NBC Sports Bay Area and CSN Washington Plus. NBCSN will air an encore presentation of final practice on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Sunday’s race day coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with NASCAR America, and leads into NBC Sports Group’s pre-race show, Countdown to Green, at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Before the green flag falls on Sunday, NBC Sports features reporter Rutledge Wood will bring viewers behind the scenes of New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s final fall Cup Series race. With a new track schedule on the horizon for 2018, Wood will join New England’s die-hard fan base and they celebrate 19 years of crisp autumn racing in New Hampshire.

Coverage wraps up at 6 p.m. ET with NBCSN’s post-race show, Victory Lap.

NBC Sports Group’s lead race announcer Rick Allen will call this weekend’s Monster Energy action, alongside Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte, and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton.

Krista Voda will host pre- and post-race coverage alongside auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and Hall of Fame driver Dale JarrettMarty SniderKelli Stavast and Parker Kligerman will report from pit road alongside Rutledge Wood.

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the first XFINITY Series race of the 2017 Playoffs begins Friday, with first practice at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN, followed by final practice 6:30 p.m. ET.

Race day coverage begins Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with XFINITY Series qualifying. Pre-race Countdown to Green coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET.

Dave Burns calls this weekend’s XFINITY action from Kentucky Speedway, alongside analyst Dale Jarrett. NASCAR on NBC’s Kligerman and Ralph Sheheen will serve as pit-reporters for Saturday evening’s race.

 

NHL 

Hockey is back as NBC Sports presents a pair of NHL preseason games this week, highlighted by the 2017 Kraft Hockeyville USA matchup featuring the St. Louis Blues and the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBCSN’s telecast will honor the rich hockey history of the local Belle Vernon community, highlighted by a first intermission feature on the Rostraver Ice Garden, and a live interview with Chris Kostick, who wrote the winning essay on behalf of Rostraver Ice Garden.

Five-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will call the action live from the arena. In addition, Kathryn Tappen (host) and Jeremy Roenick (analyst) will also be on-site to provide studio coverage and updates throughout the game.

 

MOTORSPORTS

NBC Sports continues its season-long coverage of the 2017 Mecum Auctions campaign this weekend on NBCSN, featuring more than 13 hours of coverage from Louisville, Ky., beginning tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET.

NBCSN’s coverage of the 2017 Mecum Auctions season rolls into Louisville, Ky., this weekend with coverage from the Kentucky Exposition Center beginning tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET. An estimated 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more from over 20 states, including Canada, are set to cross the auction block.

Scott Hoke will host NBCSN’s Mecum Auctions coverage on-site in Louisville alongside analysts John KramanStephen Cox, and Bill Stephens. Mecum Auctions is led by Dana Mecum, Founder and President of Mecum Auctions for the past 29 years.

 

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBCSN debuts the first two episodes of the special, three-part series Promoted Presented by Volkswagen this Sunday, Sept. 24 beginning at 9 a.m. ET. Roger Bennett of The Men in Blazers, who hosts the series, traveled to the U.K. to visit with managers and players to tell the stories of the three promoted clubs for the 2017-18 Premier League season.

The first two episodes, focused on Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United, debut this Sunday at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. ET, respectively, leading into the teams’ match Sunday at 11 a.m. ET (NBCSN and Telemundo). The third episode, chronicling Huddersfield Town, will premiere in October. The shows will be streamed on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Premier League coverage continues this week, highlighted by Liverpool visiting Jamie Vardy and Leicester City this Saturday, September 23, at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Universo.

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White calls the match, joined by analyst Lee Dixon at King Power Stadium.

Live Premier League coverage begins this Saturday at 7 a.m. ET with Premier League Live on NBCSN, followed by West Ham United v. Tottenham Hotspur on NBCSN and Universo. Tottenham are unbeaten in their past three Premier League matches, coming off a goalless draw against Swansea City. Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, NBCSN and Universo host coverage of first-place Manchester City v. Crystal Palace, with Stoke City v. Chelsea on CNBC.

Also Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, NBC Sports Gold presents four exclusive matches with its “Premier League Pass:” Southampton v. Manchester United, Everton v. Bournemouth, Burnley v. Huddersfield Town and Swansea City v. Watford. Manchester United are currently in second place, level on points with first-place Manchester City.

BERLIN MARATHON

NBC Sports Group presents coverage of three marathons in the next month – Berlin, Chicago, and Amsterdam – beginning this Sunday, Sept. 24 with live and encore coverage of the Berlin Marathon. Live coverage of the Berlin Marathon begins at 3 a.m. ET Sunday on NBCSN, with an encore presentation of the race Sunday at Noon ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

Live, commercial-free coverage of the event will be streamed with a subscription to NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass,” as well as via authentication on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

The Berlin Marathon features three of the world’s top marathoners on the men’s side, including 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Wilson Kipsang of Kenya, three-time Olympic gold medalist and reigning Berlin champion Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia, and 2016 Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya.

UCI ROAD CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues its live coverage of the 90th edition of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships from Bergen, Norway, with the individual time trial and road race. The UCI Road Cycling World Championships continues tomorrow, September 19, with the junior men’s individual time trial at 5:30 a.m. ET, culminating Sunday, September 24.

UCI CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP

Live coverage of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season continues on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA this Sunday, September 24, at 3 p.m. ET with the second stop of the season in Waterloo, Wis. Cyclo-Cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt.
