STAMFORD, Conn. September 18, 2017 – As NBCSN heads to New England for the second race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, NASCAR America presents a week of shows jam-packed with exclusive driver interviews and features, highlighted by in-studio appearances by three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion and Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner Tony Stewart, as well as Furniture Row Racing’s rookie driver Erik Jones.

 

Amid preparations for Sunday’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Tony Stewart will stop by NBC Sports Group’s headquarters in Stamford, Conn., tomorrow, September 19, for a live in-studio interview on NASCAR America. Stewart joins NASCAR America host Carolyn Manno (@carolynmanno), along with “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton (@Jeffburton), and auto racing icon Kyle Petty (@Kylepetty), to discuss his storied career, Stewart-Haas Racing’s two NASCAR Cup Series Playoff contenders, Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick, and speak about the recently announced changes to the team in 2018.

 

Stewart will also take over NASCAR on NBC’s social accounts, and participate in interviews with NBCSports.com, NBC Sports Radio and select NBC affiliates.

 

ERIK JONES JOINS NASCAR AMERICA FROM NASCAR HALL OF FAME – WEDNESDAY AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

 

Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET, Erik Jones will join NASCAR America host Marty Snider (@HeyMartySnider), Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett (@Dalejarrett), and Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte (@steveletarte), live from the Hall of Honor, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

 

Jones will discuss his successful rookie season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, with four top-five finishes in the first 27 races of the season. Jones will also discuss his transition within the Toyota family, to drive the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota starting in 2018.

 

As part of NBCSN’s comprehensive coverage of the 2017 NASCAR season, NASCAR America will present a live show each week from the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Each live episode will include an in-depth interview with an active driver, and highlight their journey to professional racing.

 

JOEY LOGANO SURPRISES FAMILY IN NEED ON NBC’S GEORGE TO THE RESCUE – SATURDAY, SEPT. 23

 

This Saturday, September 23, NASCAR driver Joey Logano makes a special appearance on George To The Rescue, NBC’s home improvement show dedicated to helping deserving families in need.  Saturday’s episode highlights the Stratton family and their young son Nicholas, a die-hard NASCAR fan who suffers from a seizure disorder. Through a collaboration between NASCAR, The Joey Logano Foundation, and NBC, the family’s home is renovated to improve their lives and better accommodate Nicholas’ special needs. Logano also surprises the family with an exciting day at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, giving them a chance to experience race day behind-the-scenes with the No. 22 team.
