STAMFORD, Conn. – September 18, 2017 – This week’s coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA – a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, and NBCUniversal – is highlighted by the 2017 Berlin Marathon, as well as 2016 Olympic track cycling silver medalist Chloe Dygert and Grand Tour double winner Chris Froome competing in the UCI Road Cycling World Championships live from Bergen, Norway.

2017 BERLIN MARATHON – SUNDAY AT NOON ET

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents encore coverage of the Berlin Marathon – the fourth of the six world marathon majors – this Sunday, September 24, at Noon ET. NBCSN presents live coverage of the Berlin Marathon Sunday at 3 a.m. ET.

The Berlin Marathon features three of the world’s top marathoners on the men’s side, including 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Wilson Kipsang of Kenya, three-time Olympic gold medalist and reigning Berlin champion Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia, and 2016 Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya. The trio looks to break the world record in Berlin.

In addition, the Olympic Channel presents Marathon, the official film of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, tonight at 8 p.m. ET. Marathon takes a look back at the great moments of the Barcelona Games, including the men’s marathon. The film features performances from Olympic stars Gail Devers, who won one of the closest women’s 100m final races in Olympic history, two-time 1992 Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis, the “Dream Team,” and Belarusian gymnastics great Vitaly Scherbo, who won six gold medals in Barcelona representing the Unified Team.

Coverage leading up to the Berlin Marathon includes daily encore presentations of the major marathons from the past year beginning tomorrow, September 19, at 5:30 p.m. ET with the 2016 Berlin Marathon.


UCI ROAD CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – LIVE DAILY COVERAGE CONTINUES TUESDAY AT 5:30 A.M. ET

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues its live coverage of the 90th edition of the UCI Road Cycling World Championships from Bergen, Norway, with the individual time trial and road race. The UCI Road Cycling World Championships continues tomorrow, September 19, with the junior men’s individual time trial at 5:30 a.m. ET, culminating Sunday, September 24.

2016 Olympic track cycling silver medalist Chloe Dygert and defending world champion Amber Neben are slated to compete in the individual time trial, while Olympian Tejay Van Garderen highlights the men’s field for the U.S. Grand Tour double winner Chris Froome returns to action after winning the Vuelta a Espana earlier this month and the Tour de France in July with the men’s time trial this Wednesday, September 20, at 7 a.m. ET.

Paul Sherwen calls the action, joined by analyst and former professional cyclist Bob Roll.


UCI CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP
– SUNDAY AT 3 P.M. ET

Live coverage of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season continues on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA this Sunday, September 24, at 3 p.m. ET with the second stop of the season in Waterloo, Wis. Cyclo-Cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt.

Two-time reigning world champion and World Cup winner Wout van Aert (Belgium) aims to defend his title on the 1.7-mile course.
