NFL

NBC Sports continues its presentation of Sunday Night Football this week with a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game, when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (1-0) visit Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons (1-0), as they open their new home, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The roof of the stadium is expected to be open for the first time during a sporting event on Sunday night. Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, September 17, at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Calling Packers-Falcons are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 32nd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.

Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by Mike Tirico, who will report on-site from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and Dan Patrick, who will host from Studio 1 at NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Patrick is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com and PFT Live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Radio. Kathryn Tappen will report from Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo., on the Cowboys-Broncos game.

NASCAR

NBC Sports Group surrounds the first race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, with more than 17 hours of trackside coverage from Chicagoland Speedway, in Joliet, Illinois. NBC Sports Group’s race coverage begins Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with XFINITY Series racing, and culminates Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing.

NBCSN kicks off its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coverage from Chicagoland, this Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET, with first practice, followed by qualifying at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Saturday’s coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. ET on CNBC, with second practice. A live on-site edition of NASCAR America begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and leads into final practice 2 p.m. ET.

Sunday’s race day coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with NASCAR America, and leads into NBC Sports Group’s pre-race show, Countdown to Green, at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Pre-race coverage includes interviews with all 16 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff drivers, in addition to a live on-set interview with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., as he readies to compete in his first Cup Series Playoffs. In addition, Rutledge Wood tours the “Windy City,” bringing viewers at home a glimpse of the best historic landmarks, deep dish pizza and hot dogs, the city has to offer.

NBC Sports Group’s lead race announcer Rick Allen will call this weekend’s Monster Energy and XFINITY Series action, alongside Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte, and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton.

Krista Voda will host pre- and post-race coverage alongside auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett. Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast, Dave Burns and Parker Kligerman will report from pit road alongside features reporter Rutledge Wood.

INDYCAR

The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series championship will be decided this weekend on NBCSN at the IndyCar GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, as Josef Newgarden (Penske) looks to win his first-ever title and hold off a wide array of challengers in the tightest points battle atop the standings in a decade.

Comprehensive live coverage from Sonoma begins Friday at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN with practice, followed by qualifying on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, and race coverage on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET. NBCSN will also present an encore presentation of the race on Monday, Sept. 18, at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Leigh Diffey (play-by-play) will call the action alongside analysts and drivers Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Reporters Kevin Lee, Jon Beekhuis, Katie Hargitt and Robin Miller will report from the pits.

FORMULA ONE

Live coverage of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix begins exclusively on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app on Friday morning at 4:30 a.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by NBCSN’s live coverage of Practice 2 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Streaming coverage on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app continues Saturday at 6 a.m. ET with Practice 3 and live qualifying at 9 a.m. ET on CNBC.

Live Singapore Grand Prix race coverage begins Sunday morning at 7 a.m. ET on NBCSN with F1 Countdown, and is followed by F1 Extra at 10 a.m. ET.

Bob Varsha will call this weekend’s action, filling in for Diffey who will call the IndyCar finale in Sonoma. He and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. Will Buxton will serve as the on-site reporter in Singapore.

FIVB MEN’S VOLLEYBALL WORLD GRAND CHAMPIONS CUP

Live coverage of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup continues from Japan this weekend at 11:30 p.m. ET on the Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. The tournament – one of the biggest on the international circuit this season – brings together the winners of four of the five continental championships to find out who is the “Champion of Champions.”

ITU WORLD TRIATHLON GRAND FINAL

UCI ROAD CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

UCI CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP

The UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup season kicks off Sunday, September 17, from Iowa City, Iowa, with the Jingle Cross live on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA at 3 p.m. ET. Cyclo-Cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt.

The world’s top female professional golfers are converging upon Evian-les-Bains, France this week for the LPGA Tour’s fifth and final major of 2017, The Evian Championship, Thursday-Sunday, Sept. 14-17.
