Olympic Medalist Jenny Simpson Returns in Search of Record Fifth-Straight Title

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 7, 2017 – NBC presents live coverage of the 2017 New Balance 5th Avenue Mile this Sunday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. ET. Live, commercial-free coverage of the event will be streamed with a subscription to NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass.” The race, in its 37th year, will also be streamed live via authentication on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Stretching 20 blocks on 5th Avenue, the race is expected to draw 6,000 runners. The women’s field is led by 2016 Olympic 1500m bronze medalist Jenny Simpson, who will be looking for a record fifth-straight 5th Avenue Mile win. The men’s field features defending champion Eric Jenkins, who looks to become the first men’s repeat winner in the event since 1998.
