NASCAR

NBC Sports Group celebrates Darlington Raceway’s throwback weekend of racing, with retro themes, graphics and style from the 1985-89 NASCAR era, integrated throughout 19 hours of trackside coverage from “The Track Too Tough to Tame,” in Darlington, South Carolina. Race coverage begins Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with XFINITY Series racing, and culminates Sunday night at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing.

NBC Sports Group kicks off its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coverage from Darlington Raceway, this Friday at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Final practice begins at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by NASCAR America at 5 p.m. ET. Saturday’s coverage includes a special 30-minute edition of NASCAR America at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN, followed by qualifying at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Sunday’s race day coverage begins at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with NASCAR America, and leads into NBC Sports Group’s pre-race show, Countdown to Green, at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NASCAR Cup Series racing begins at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and is followed by a live on-site NASCAR Cup Series post-race show. NBCSN wraps up coverage at 11 p.m. ET with Victory Lap, NBC Sports Group’s NASCAR post-race show, originating from Stamford, Conn.

NBC Sports Group’s lead race announcer Rick Allen will call this weekend’s Monster Energy and XFINITY Series action, alongside Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte, and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton.

Legendary NASCAR broadcasters Ken Squier and Ned Jarrett will return to the booth Sunday, alongside Dale Jarrett, to call a portion of the race.

Krista Voda will host pre- and post-race coverage alongside auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett. Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast and Dave Burns will report from pit road.

INDYCAR

The Verizon IndyCar Series rolls into Watkins Glen in upstate New York for the penultimate race of the 2017 campaign. NBCSN will televise qualifying on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET, followed by pre-race coverage on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, race coverage at 1:30 p.m. ET, and post-race analysis following the checkered flag at 4 p.m. ET.

Leigh Diffey will call race alongside analysts Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Reporters Jon Beekhuis, Katie Hargitt, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.

FORMULA 1

The 2017 F1 season continues this weekend with iconic Italian Grand Prix from Monza.

Coverage begins Friday on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app at 4 a.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by Practice 2 at 8 a.m. ET on NBCSN. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream Practice 3 on Saturday at 5 a.m. ET, prior to NBCSN’s live coverage of qualifying at 8 a.m. ET. F1 Countdown pre-race coverage on NBCSN starts Sunday at 7 a.m. ET, leading into live race coverage at 7:30 a.m. ET, and post-race analysis on F1 Extra at 10 a.m. ET.

Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett will call the action. F1 insider Will Buxton will report on-site from Monza.

ON A MISSION: ATLANTA RISING

As the NFL season approaches, NBC Sports will present “On a Mission: Atlanta Rising” profiling Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC owner Arthur Blank on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

The one-hour “On a Mission: Atlanta Rising” profile will examine Blank’s personal and professional life from his childhood through February’s dramatic Super Bowl defeat and beyond.

GRAMMY-winning multiplatinum artist Zac Brown of Zac Brown Band, will make his television voiceover debut as the narrator.

DO YOUR JOB PART 2: BILL BELICHICK AND 2016 PATRIOTS

On Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. ET, the Falcons’ Super Bowl LI opponent New England Patriots will be featured on NBC, in the debut of the NFL Films-produced special “Do Your Job – Part 2.”

Narrated by Boston native and Academy Award-nominated actor Edward Norton, the hour-long show provides an inside look at the 2016 Patriots’ Super Bowl season, featuring interviews with Robert Kraft, Jonathan Kraft, Bill Belichick, Matt Patricia, Josh McDaniels, and key front office personnel.

NOTRE DAME

NBC Sports kicks off its 27th season of Notre Dame Football on NBC this Saturday, September 2, when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the Temple Owls at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

The Notre Dame Football on NBC commentary team is led by Mike Tirico, who begins his first full season as the voice of Notre Dame Football on NBC. He’ll be joined in the booth by Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie, who serves as lead analyst for Notre Dame Football on NBC, and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen.

Liam McHugh hosts studio coverage of Notre Dame Football on NBC, alongside former college and NFL quarterback Chris Simms, who makes his debut as a studio analyst for Notre Dame Football on NBC this season. McHugh and Simms will anchor pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage on-site at Notre Dame Stadium for every game this season.

DREAM TEAM WEEK

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues its “Dream Team Week” celebration of the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics this weekend with an 11-hour Dream Team Labor Day marathon on Monday, Sept. 4, highlighted by the 1992 Gold Medal Final vs. Croatia at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Legendary basketball play-by-play voice Marv Albert handled play-by-play duties for NBC Olympics’ coverage of the 1992 Barcelona Games, and was courtside to chronicle the gold medal-winning run of the Dream Team. Albert was joined by analyst Mike Fratello and reporter Quinn Buckner, and the team of the late Chick Hearn and Steve Jones.

VUELTA A ESPAÑA

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA continues its coverage of the 2017 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – this week with live daily coverage at 10 a.m. ET. Running from Tuesday, August 29, to Sunday, September 10, the Vuelta is made up of 21 stages, and will cover a total distance of more than 2,000 miles.

NBCSN will televise encore presentations of select stages throughout the race, continuing with Stage 14 on Saturday, September 2, at 10 a.m. ET.

Paul Sherwen calls the race, joined by analyst and former professional cyclist Bob Roll.

FIS WORLD CUP FREESTYLE SKIING

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA coverage of freestyle skiing from the FIS World Cup in Cardrona, New Zealand, continues this weekend with the first ski halfpipe event of the season. Sunday coverage begins live at midnight ET with snowboard slopestyle, highlighted by a formidable trio of U.S. women lead by 2014 Olympic gold medalist Jamie Anderson, 2017 X Games winner Julia Marino and 2017 big air X Games winner Hailey Langland. Other notable Americans slated to compete include 2017 world champion Aaron Blunck and 2014 Olympic slopestyle silver medalist Gus Kenworthy on the men’s side, and 2014 Olympic gold medalist Maddie Bowman on the women’s.

Trace Worthington (play-by-play) will provide commentary, and will be joined by analyst, Kaitlyn Farrington, on Sunday.

2017 ARCHERY WORLD CUP FINAL

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present coverage of archery from the 2017 Archery World Cup Final from Rome, Italy, this Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. Notable Americans slated to compete include three-time Olympic medalist Brady Ellison on Sunday and Steve Anderson and Braden Gellenthien on Saturday.

IAAF DIAMOND LEAGUE TRACK & FIELD

NBC Sports Group presents live coverage of the IAAF Diamond League tomorrow, Friday, September 1 at 2 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, from King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium, to conclude the 2017 season and crown Diamond League champions. Encore coverage of the event will air Friday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Sunday, September 3, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.

Bill Doleman calls the action joined by analysts Ato Boldon and Paul Swangard.

PREMIERSHIP RUGBY FINAL

NBC Sports presents live coverage of the 2017 Aviva Premiership Rugby Final this weekend from Twickenham Stadium in London, England, as Wasps face Exeter Chiefs for the title on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Leigh Diffey will anchor studio coverage from Monaco alongside analyst and former Premiership Rugby player Alex Corbisiero. Former USA Rugby captain and Premiership Rugby player Dan Lyle will serve as the on-site reporter from Twickenham Stadium in London. Nick Mullins will lead the game commentary team alongside analysts Ben Kaye and Austin Healey.

HORSE RACING

Winchell Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm’s 4-year-old Gun Runner will be the dominant presence in the $750,000 Woodward Stakes from Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., this Saturday, September 2 at 6 p.m. ET., on the live NBCSN telecast of “Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In – Presented by Lane’s End Farm and America’s Best Racing.”

Saturday’s program will be hosted by Randy Moss, who will be joined by analyst and Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey, reporter Britney Eurton, and Daily Racing Form’s Matt Bernier as the handicapper.

AVP PRO BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOUR

NBC Sports Group’s 2017 AVP Tour presentation culminates with the AVP Championships in Chicago, Ill., on September 3.

Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe serves as the play-by-play announcer, joined by beach volleyball Olympian and three-time All-American Kevin Wong (analyst), and Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton (reporter).

ROAD TO THE PRESIDENTS CUP

David Feherty and Ryan Burr discuss all things Presidents Cup leading up to the 2017 competition at Liberty National. Features include how Liberty National went from land fill to world class golf venue, Jordan Spieth’s sharp shooting prowess, a recap of the great Presidents Cup clash of 2015, and a conversation with International Captain Nick Price.

GOLF

The PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs continue this week outside of Boston with the Dell Technologies Championship, Friday-Monday, Sept. 1-4. Golf Channel and NBC will carry exclusive coverage of the final three events of the FedExCup Playoffs, culminating with the season-ending TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Golf Channel will carry live coverage of the opening two rounds on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET and Saturday at 3 p.m. ET., with NBC carrying the third and final round coverage on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

Terry Gannon and Frank Nobilo will handle play-by-play and analyst duties for Golf Channel’s early round and lead-in coverage of the Dell Technologies Championship. Dan Hicks and Johnny Miller will anchor NBC’s weekend coverage of the final three events. Tower analysts Gary Koch and Peter Jacobsen; on-course reporters David Feherty, Jim “Bones” Mackay, Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing and Notah Begay, and reporter Steve Sands will contribute to coverage on both Golf Channel and NBC.
