NBC SPORTS PRESENTS LIVE COVERAGE OF UNIVERSAL OPEN ROCKET LEAGUE ESPORTS TOURNAMENT GRAND FINALS THIS WEEKEND ON NBCSN

World’s Best Rocket League Players Compete for $100,000 Prize Pool Live on NBCSN at Esports Arena in Santa Ana, Calif.

Syfy to Televise Universal Open Rocket League Grand Finals in Australia, Germany, Latin America, and the U.K.

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 23, 2017 – NBC Sports Group and FACEIT’s Universal Open Rocket League esports tournament culminates with live coverage of the Grand Finals this Saturday and Sunday on NBCSN, as the world’s best Rocket League players will compete at Esports Arena in Santa Ana, Calif., for a $100,000 prize pool.

Universal Open Rocket League is a 2v2 tournament featuring Rocket League, the sports-action hit with a community of more than 35 million players, developed and published by San Diego-based game studio, Psyonix. The tournament utilizes FACEIT’s competitive gaming platform, and numerous NBCUniversal and Comcast regional, national and international assets.

The tournament began with Qualifiers organized geographically by the NBC Sports Regional Networks, as well as a U.S. Open Qualifier. NBC Sports Regional Networks hosted four Regional round competitions, in addition to a U.S. Open Regional and a European Invitational hosted on FACEIT.

Below are the 16 teams that will compete in the Grand Finals.

  • Grand Finals Bracket 1 – G2 eSports, Ambition eSports, Incognit0, and Gale Force eSports
  • Grand Finals Bracket 2 – DapG, Fibeon, Wabi-Sabi, and Mockit eSports
  • Grand Finals Bracket 3 – Cloud9, Splyce, Renegades, and FlipSid3 Tactics
  • Grand Finals Bracket 4 – SizzleUrCob, G2 Omega, Ghost, and Method

NBCSN will televise live coverage of the Day 1 of the Grand Finals on Saturday night at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT, followed by Day 2 of the Grand Finals on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

In addition to NBCSN’s live coverage, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, Telemundo en Vivo, and Twitch, will provide live streaming coverage of the Grand Finals, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday and 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. In addition, Syfy will televise coverage internationally in Australia, Germany, Latin America, and the United Kingdom.

Kevin Knocke will host coverage of the Universal Open Rocket League Grand Finals. He will be joined by casters WavePunk (Caleb Simmons), Corelli (Jack Collier), and JorbyPls (Joey Ahrens), as well as analysts Quinn Lobdell (Michael Behrouzi) and Jamesbot (James Villar), and reporter AxelToss (Alex Rodriguez).
