NBC SPORTS PRESENTS NASCAR XFINITY SERIES RACING FROM ROAD AMERICA – SUNDAY, AUGUST 27, AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBC

Elliott Sadler Joins NASCAR America from NASCAR Hall of Fame – Tonight at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN

NASCAR on NBC’s Parker Kligerman Pulls Double Duty as a Reporter and Driver during Sunday’s XFINITY Series Race

 

NBC Sports Group’s 2017 NASCAR Cup Series Telecasts Are Most-Watched Sporting Event on Six of Eight Weekends

 

STAMFORD, Conn.August 22, 2017 – NBC Sports Group moves into its ninth week of live 2017 XFINITY Series racing, with seven hours of trackside coverage from Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. XFINITY Series race coverage, from the legendary four-mile road course, begins Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

 

With the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on an off week, all eyes are on the XFINITY Series this weekend. With four regular season races to go, three drivers William Byron, Justin Allgaier and Ryan Reed, have clinched their place in the XFINITY Series Playoffs, by virtue of a win. XFINITY Series points leader Elliott Sadler officially earned a spot this past Friday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, garnering enough points to guarantee his position in the Playoffs. Eight drivers currently hold the remaining spots based on points, but have yet to guarantee their positions.

 

In addition to live television coverage on NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR action.

 

XFINITY SERIES COVERAGE FROM ROAD AMERICA – SUNDAY AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBC

 

NBC Sports Group’s XFINITY Series coverage from Road America begins Saturday, with first practice at 2 p.m. ET, followed by final practice at 4 p.m. ET. Coverage of both practice sessions will be available on NBCSN. Coverage continues Sunday, with XFINITY Series qualifying at 11:30 p.m. ET on CNBC. Pre-race Countdown to Green coverage starts at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by race coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

 

Dave Burns (@tvdaveburns) will call this weekend’s XFINITY Series action alongside Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett (@DaleJarrett). Kelli Stavast (@Kellistavast) and Ralph Sheheen (@Ralphsheheen) will report from pit road.

 

NASCAR on NBC reporter Parker Kligerman (@Pkligerman) will contribute first-hand analysis throughout the weekend, as he drives the Precision Performance Motorsports No. 46 Chevy, and competes in Sunday afternoon’s race.

 

ELLIOTT SADLER JOINS NASCAR AMERICA FROM NASCAR HALL OF FAME – TONIGHT AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

 

Tonight at 5 p.m. ET on NASCAR America, NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Elliott Sadler will join host Marty Snider (@HeyMartySnider), as well as analysts Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton (@Jeffburton), from Glory Road at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, in Charlotte, N.C.

 

The driver of JR Motorsports’ No. 1 Chevrolet will unveil his throwback paint scheme for next weekend’s XFINITY Series race at Darlington Raceway. Sadler will also discuss his dominant 2017 season, what it’s like to drive for Dale Earnhardt Jr., and his rise from Virginia short tracks to NASCAR’s biggest stages.

 

As part of NBCSN’s comprehensive coverage of the 2017 NASCAR season, NASCAR America will present a live show each week from the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Each live episode will include an in-depth interview with an active driver, and highlight their journey to professional racing.

NBC SPORTS GROUP’S 2017 NASCAR CUP SERIES TELECASTS ARE MOST-WATCHED SPORTING EVENT ON SIX OF EIGHT WEEKENDS

 

NBC Sports Group is gearing up for the 2017 NASCAR Playoffs with considerable momentum. Through the first two months of NBC and NBCSN’s live race coverage, NBC Sports Group’s telecasts of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series have ranked as the most-watched sporting event on six of eight weekends – up from two of eight last year, and one of eight in 2015.

 

Beginning with NBC Sports Group’s 2017 NASCAR on NBC season debut from Daytona International Speedway, and continuing through this past weekend’s Cup Series broadcast from Bristol Motor Speedway, all three NASCAR Cup Series races broadcast on NBC (Daytona, Indianapolis, Bristol) have won the weekend, and three races telecast on NBCSN (New Hampshire, Pocono, Watkins Glen) have ranked as the most-watched sporting event of the weekend.
