On United States retaining the Solheim Cup
Judy Rankin – “Juli has worked so hard towards this goal ever since she knew she was going to captain for a second time.”
Rankin – “Two years ago, Juli told those players to do their nails and all of that funky stuff before they ever got there, because it was going to be about golf once they arrived on the scene. She changed the mentality a little bit, and all for the better.”
Rankin – “Annika Sorenstam had a rough go this week. She had injuries, illnesses and did not have a team that was 100 percent. It was a tough enough hill to climb anyway.”
Terry Gannon – “The level of golf this week has been something else.”
Rankin – “Everybody loves this. You have no idea how hard people work over a two year period of time to make this team.”
Jerry Foltz – “We have seen some incredible golf for three days.”
Rankin – “The quality of the golf and the quality of the matches kept us riveted.”
Tom Abbott – “It has been a tremendous week for not only the U.S., but for women’s golf in general.”

U.S. Captain Juli Inkster speaking with Golf Channel’s Grant Boone following the United States’ victory at the Solheim Cup
Juli Inkster – “I’m just proud of my team. The Europeans fought hard today. They made it really close. I really haven’t nervous all week but today I was a little bit nervous. It is an honor to captain this team and I’m really proud of the girls.”
Inkster – “They believed in each other. They played for the person behind them and in front of them. They played some amazing golf.”

European Captain Annika Sorenstam speaking with Golf Channel’s Grant Boone following the matches
Annika Sorenstam – “We just got outplayed. There is no doubt about it. I’m just so proud of how hard they fought. It is not easy coming out here on Sunday and being so far behind, but I’m proud of them. They were fighting for every single match and every single point. Congratulations to the USA because they played some awesome golf.”
Sorenstam – “Sometimes it is not always about the results. This has been a lot about the journey. I’ve learned a lot this past 18 months. It has been a pleasure to represent the European Tour. I’m so proud of these young girls. New friendships and new memories.”

On Lexi Thompson and Anna Nordqvist halving their match
Rankin – “She [Thompson] seemed totally out of sorts, very shaken. On this back nine, now we are seeing the Lexi that we all know, who is the number 2 player in the world.”
Gannon – “This is a match that is going to be remembered for some time.”
Rankin – “Anna Nordqvist played only one hole where she was a little bit off today.”
Foltz – “I didn’t think Lexi could make more fans than by the way she conducted herself after the debacle at the ANA Inspiration. The way she played, the way she handled herself and the way she conducted herself in the interviews after words. But I might be wrong. This has been one incredible display against Europe’s best player.”
Gannon – “Shaken, confused and then turning on a dime, unbeatable.”
Gannon – “Fitting in the end to halve the match, because Anna Nordqvist did not deserve to lose based on how she played.”
Rankin – “It was the most amazing contest and a tale of two nines for Lexi Thompson.”
Foltz – “She went to playing the probably the worst three holes of her life on the front nine to probably the best nine of her life.”
Gannon – “One of the more remarkable turnarounds you will ever see in match play.”
Foltz – “Some of the best golf I have ever seen from Lexi Thompson on this back nine.”

Juli Inkster speaking w Golf Channel’s Grant Boone following the match
Juli Inkster – “To me that was like six points. It was fitting that they both got half a point. They both played amazing. Lexi started off slow but that shows the heart of her and her determination. You think maybe she is out of it and then all of a sudden a switch goes off. That is a big half a point for the U.S. team”

Lexi Thompson speaking with Golf Channel’s Jerry Foltz following her match
Lexi Thompson – “That had to be the weirdest round of golf I ever played. Front nine, I don’t think I was awake and the back nine I just played lights out. Being 4-down on the back nine, I told myself I just had to go all in and go for it all. It was a crazy round. I’m just happy that I played the way I did on the back nine and fought strong.”
Thompson – “I struggled my first few holes and having the them [Captain Inkster and Assistant Captains] there for me picking me up and telling me to keep my head up, that I’m the best and that I can do this and I can come back and 6 or 7 birdies in a row. It means the world to me to have them there for me and that is what this event is all about. To have captains and assistant captains like that.”

Anna Nordqvist speaking with Golf Channel’s Jerry Foltz following the match
Anna Nordqvist – “Just no words. On the back nine I played great all day and played good all week. Her making the eagle on 11 was very impressive. Her making the putt on 15, I didn’t quite expect that. The way she turned it around from a rocky start was very impressive. Just been an incredible week. Happy to have hit a great 8-iron on the last and tie the match. Overall, just completely exhausted right now.”

On Paula Creamer defeating Georgia Hall 1UP
Kay Cockerill – “Georgia Hall has fought hard not only today but all three days of this competition.”
Cockerill – “It’s been remarkable watching Paula Creamer this week. The spring in her step. Her energy, the enthusiasm. Her short game has been excellent.”

Paula Creamer speaking with Golf Channel’s Kay Cockerill following her match
Paula Creamer – “Georgia is a rookie and played all five matches this week and played awesome. I knew that she was going to be a fighter. I see a lot of me in her. She is a grinder. I know if I kept putting the pressure on and tried to stay in tunnel vision with my caddie. I missed some shots and he and I fixed it. It is an unfortunate finish for her because she did play well and we deserved to halve that match. I truly believe that. But a win is a win and I tip my hat off to her. She made me work for it and I made her work for it and that is what you want in a match.”
Creamer – “These crowds are awesome and I didn’t want to let anybody down. I felt like I had a lot of pressure in Germany, but this way more pressure than that. Being an alternate is a tough job to fill. For Juli to play me for matches, I knew my game was there, but obviously it didn’t look like it was and I had a great partner in Austin and a great team. This was such a good win for me and women’s golf, I think we all showcased ourselves well.”

On Danielle Kang defeating Emily Pedersen 3&1
Rankin – “She is the queen of making the 25-footers this week.”
Gannon – “She has been some bright spot for the U.S. this week.”
Rankin – “She has that moxie about her and that joy in playing the game about her that Captain Inkster felt really good about putting her in the anchor match.”

On Angel Yin, retaining the Solheim Cup by halving her match with Karine Icher
Gannon – “How about an 18-year and her first trip to the Solheim Cup and what she has done this week.”

Angel Yin with speaking with Golf Channel’s Jerry Foltz
Angel Yin – “Pretty amazing I have to say, It is very different, I’ve never seen this many people in the crowd before. They made me hit it further than I have ever hit it in my life, and putting it harder too. I wasn’t nervous, just excited the adrenaline was pumping.”

Lizette Sales speaking with Golf Channel’s Kay Cockerill}
Lizette Salas – “My college coach Andrea Gaston she would always say, one shot at a time, one tournament at a time. It was a crazy pod but we accepted each other and learned from each other. Just in general I’m one of 12 girls from around the country. We all just came together for one goal. We put all egos and pride aside and put on the red, white and blue and went to work. This is something I will cherish forever and I know all of the girls will too.”
