STAMFORD, Conn. – August 14, 2017 – This week, coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA – a partnership between the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, and NBCUniversal – is highlighted by 2016 Rio Olympian and four-time  U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak competing at the 2017 P&G Gymnastics Championships, as well as four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome (Team Sky) looking to complete the Grand Tour double with a win at the 2017 Vuelta a España after winning the Tour de France last month.

In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will debut five new episodes of Heroes of the Future. The Olympic champions of tomorrow are hard at work today, and Heroes of the Future profiles those young athletes from around the world who are already at the top of their games.

Following are highlights from this week’s programming on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA:

P&G GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA kicks off coverage of the 2017 P&G Gymnastics Championships from Anaheim, Calif., this Thursday at 10:30 p.m. ET with live coverage of the men’s competition. In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present encore coverage of the men’s competition Sunday, August 20, at 2:30 p.m. ET and encore coverage of the women’s competition Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. More information on NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2017 P&G Championships will be announced later this week.

The men’s field is highlighted by four-time U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak, 2017 American Cup champion Yul Moldauer, and 2016 Olympic alternate Donnell Whittenburg.

Headlining the women’s field are 2017 American Cup champion Ragan Smith, and 2016 Olympic alternate Ashton Locklear.

NBC Sports Group’s gymnastics team of play-by-play voice Al Trautwig, two-time Olympic medalist Tim Daggett, 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin and reporter Andrea Joyce will host coverage.

VUELTA A ESPAÑA

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA begins daily coverage of the 2017 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – this Saturday, live at 11:30 a.m. ET. Running from Saturday, August 19, to Sunday, September 10, the Vuelta is made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of more than 2,000 miles. More information on NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Vuelta a España will be announced later this week.

Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome (Team Sky) looks to complete the Grand Tour double with a win at the Vuelta after winning the Tour de France last month. He will be joined by three-time Vuelta winner Alberto Contador (Trek–Segafredo), and 2014 Tour de France and 2010 Vuelta winner Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain–Merida).

Paul Sherwen calls the race, joined by analyst and former professional cyclist Bob Roll.

IAAF DIAMOND LEAGUE TRACK & FIELD – BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND

Coverage of the IAAF Diamond League Track & Field event in Birmingham, England, will be presented on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA this Sunday, live at 10 a.m. ET. The event, the 12th IAAF Diamond League meeting of 2017, is highlighted by a World Championships rematch in the women’s 400m when Americans Phyllis Francis and Allyson Felix, who won first and third, respectively, take on silver medalist Salwa Eid Naser (Bahrain). Felix won three medals at last week’s World Championships to become the most decorated athlete in world championship history with a total of 16 medals.

The event also features Americans Kori Carter and Dalilah Muhammad, who took first and second, respectively, in the women’s 400m hurdles at the World Championships last week, facing bronze medalist Ristananna Tracey (Jamaica) in the event.

UCI MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUP

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents coverage of the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup from Mont-Ste-Anne, Canada, this Thursday, August 17. Coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET with the men’s and women’s downhill, followed by the women’s and women’s cross-country at 2:30 p.m. ET.
