New Season, Newly Promoted Teams: Huddersfield Town

First match: Crystal Palace v. Huddersfield Town, Sat., August 12, 10 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold

Huddersfield Town will play in the Premier League for the first time this season, which marks the club’s first in the top flight since 1971-72. After finishing 5th in the Championship last season, Huddersfield earned promotion via the play-offs. The Terriers were the first team in Football League history to earn promotion after finishing the season with a negative goal difference (-2).

The club is located in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. Established in 1908, Huddersfield Town became the first team English football history to win three consecutive top-flight titles (1924-26) but have not won a top-flight title since then.
