On the announcement of the schedule changes to the PGA TOUR and PGA Championship
Brandel Chamblee – “I think it’s good for golf. It’s great for the biggest events in golf…You have momentum that can build and then it’s going to end in dramatic fashion and do so before football. That is just great for golf.”
David Duval – “I agree with it wholeheartedly…Whatever tournament you put in that August date, there’s going to be a bit of a fatigue and that event might struggle a little bit. And I think just having everybody knowing that the Playoffs are probably going to end at the end of August, I think that’s a wonderful thing… I think it’s a brilliant move.”
Frank Nobilo – “I think a lot of things had to happen, the Olympics being one of them. Because obviously that sort of shook the bones around. But I think you have to at least allow the players of today an option for an offseason…Now there is an option, so you have to applaud that.”
On Rickie Fowler and his chances at winning a major championship
Chamblee – “He’s proven to be a very aggressive and very clutch player… There’s this impression that Rickie Fowler makes a lot of mistakes, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s only one player on the PGA TOUR who made fewer bogeys than Rickie Fowler last year and there’s only a handful this year. But I also think he damn well knows he should have won a major championship by now, and he thinks everybody else thinks the exact same thing. That’s a compliment. But I think he views that as pressure… And it’s holding him back in major championships. When he gets angry and realizes that he’s owed a major championship and that he deserves a major championship, he’ll win a major championship.”
Duval – “Everybody knows I’m a fan of Rickie Fowler, but I believe he doesn’t win as much as he should. I believe he’ll be a major champion soon, I think he has all those abilities… He’s proven that he can win on big venues and can pull off the shots. But I think that if he can get out of his own way and stop thinking about it and get ahead of himself, he’ll do himself a big service.”

Daniel Berger – “I think it’s fantastic. I think the fact that they’re spread out is great. I think that having a big tournament not so close to each other kind of lets each tournament shine a little bit more… Just having them spread out I think is really important.”
