NASCAR

NBC Sports Group gears up for its fourth week of live 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and XFINITY Series racing, with 18 hours of trackside coverage from Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in Indianapolis, Ind. NBC Sports Group’s race coverage from “The Brickyard” begins Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with XFINITY Series racing, and culminates Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing.

NBC Sports Group kicks off its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coverage from Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Saturday at 9 a.m. ET on CNBC, with first practice and second practice. A special 30-minute edition of NASCAR America begins at noon ET on NBCSN. NASCAR Cup Series qualifying wraps up the evening in Indianapolis at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Sunday’s race-day coverage begins with NBC Sports Group’s pre-race show, Countdown to Green, at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. NASCAR Cup Series racing begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. NBCSN wraps up coverage at 6 p.m. ET, with a live on-site NASCAR Cup Series post-race show and complete coverage of the winning team kissing the historic bricks.

NBC Sports Group’s lead race announcer Rick Allen will call this weekend’s Monster Energy and XFINITY Series action, alongside Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton. Pre- and post-race coverage will be hosted by Krista Voda. Voda will be joined by auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett. Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast and Dave Burns will report from pit road. In addition, features reporter Rutledge Wood will bring viewers closer the sights, sound and energy of “The Brickyard.” The driver of Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford joins NASCAR on NBC’s pre-race show to discuss his philanthropic efforts and a recent surprise visit to a fan’s home.

NBC Sports Group’s XFINITY Series coverage from Indianapolis Motor Speedway begins this Friday, with first practice at 1 p.m. ET, followed by final practice at 3 p.m. ET, available on NBCsports.com and the NBC Sports app. Coverage continues Saturday with XFINITY Series qualifying at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Pre-race Countdown to Green coverage starts at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Race coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. ET.

NASCAR on NBC’s Parker Kligerman joins Marty Snider and Dave Burns as a pit-reporter for Saturday afternoon’s race. Rutledge Wood will also contribute coverage from “The Racing Capital of the World.”

 

CYCLING

NBC Sports Group’s more than 280 hours of live, primetime, and encore coverage of the 104th Tour de France. Five stages remain in this year’s Tour de France, with live coverage culminating this Sunday, July 23 with Stage Stage 21: Montgeron to Paris Champs-Élysées live at 10:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold.

Phil Liggett (play-by-play) and Paul Sherwen (analyst), the voices of cycling, call the race action for NBC Sports Group’s coverage. Liggett and Sherwen will be joined in France by analyst Jens Voigt. Paul Burmeister will host daily pre-race and primetime studio coverage, along with analysts Bob Roll. Steve Schlanger and Steve Porino (‘Inside-the-Race’) will serve as reporters.

OLYMPIC CHANNEL

This week’s presentation of the FINA World Aquatics Championships on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA includes diving, open water swimming, swimming, synchronized swimming, and water polo.

In water polo, coverage of the U.S. men’s team continues throughout the week, with the women’s quarterfinal matches taking place on Monday, July 24.

Live diving coverage concludes Saturday, July 22, with the mixed synchronized springboard final at 8 a.m. ET, and the men’s 10-meter platform final at 11 a.m. ET.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA culminates coverage of synchronized swimming Saturday live at 5 a.m. ET. In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents live daily coverage of swimming beginning at 3:30 a.m. ET on Sunday and Monday.

Highlighting the field for Team USA are Katie Ledecky, who won five medals, including four gold, at the 2016 Rio Olympics; two-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel; and Rio 100m breaststroke champion Lilly King. The men’s field features eight-time Olympic medalist Nathan Adrian and Caeleb Dressel, who won gold with Team USA in the men’s 4×100m freestyle relay and 4×100m medley relay in Rio. Ledecky’s busy schedule begins on Sunday with the 400m free and 4x100m freestyle relay.

 Nick Gismondi (play-by-play) and Julie Swail (analyst) will provide commentary for the water polo action; Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Cynthia Potter (analyst) will handle diving coverage; Mike McMann (play-by-play) and Andrea Holland (analyst) will call synchronized swimming coverage; Gary Bloom (play-by-play) will call open water swimming; and Todd Harris (play-by-play) will call swimming joined by analyst Rowdy Gaines and reporter Heather Cox.

 

GOLF

The 146TH Open begins Thursday, and NBC Sports Group will provide 49.5 hours of live coverage from on-site at Royal Birkdale. NBC Sports additionally will offer several ancillary digital feeds to complement its linear broadcast, including: Marquee Group, Featured Holes (12, 13, 14) and The Open Spotlight, which will include coverage of the 1st and 18th holes, along with look-ins at players on the driving range, press center interviews and highlights. Golf Channel and NBC Sports digital platforms also will provide fans with full round replays, made available within the NBC Sports and Golf Channel Apps immediately following live coverage. NBC Universo will feature Spanish-Language coverage of The Open for the final round on Sunday, with coverage airing from Noon-2 p.m. ET.

The Golf Channel presents live coverage of the PGA Tour: Barbasol Championship on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. Calling the action from Opelika, Alaska is Whit Watson (play-by-play), analyst Craig Perks, Phil Blackmar (tower), Kay Cockerill and Gary Christian on the course.

The Golf Channel presents coverage of the LPGA Tour: Marathon Classic on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. Calling the action from Sylvania, Ohio is Grant Boone (play-by-play), analyst Karen Stupples, Jim Gallagher Jr. (tower), Gail Graham and Jane Crafter on the course and Chantel McCabe conducting interviews.

 

SWIMMING

NBC Sports Group continues its 240+ hours of coverage of the FINA World Aquatics Championships from Budapest, Hungary on Sunday, July 23 at 2 p.m. ET.

Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Cynthia Potter (analyst) will call diving coverage, while Todd Harris (play-by-play) will call swimming joined by analyst Rowdy Gaines and reporter Heather Cox.

 

VOLLEYBALL

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2017 AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour continues from Hermosa Beach, Calif., this Sunday, July 23, live at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe serves as the play-by-play announcer, joined by beach volleyball Olympian and three-time All-American Kevin Wong (analyst), and Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton (reporter).
