ORLANDO, Fla. (July 11, 2017) – The 146th Open is one week away and some of golf’s elites will head to Scotland this week to prepare for the season’s third major. World No. 9 Alex Noren will look to defend his 2016 title among a strong field, which includes Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler. The PGA TOUR Champions will stage its fourth major of the season this week, as Charles Schwab Cup Money List leader Bernhard Langer headlines the field as he looks to capture his fourth straight Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship and his third major of 2017. Caves Valley Golf Club outside of Baltimore will host the event for the first time. Stars from the world of sports and entertainment will tee it up at the American Century Classic, airing across NBCSN and NBC, Friday-Sunday, July 14-16. NBA star Stephen Curry and Grammy-winner Justin Timberlake lead the field at the annual celebrity gathering. The PGA TOUR will head to Illinois for the last stop before The Open, with Zach Johnson and Bubba Watson both in the field. Following his runner up finish at last week’s Web.com Tour event, Beau Hossler leads the field this week at the Utah Championship. And the inaugural Senior LPGA Championship continues this week as past LPGA legends tee it up in Indiana. The 54-hole event features a field that includes Laura Davies, Pat Bradley and former Golf Channel analyst Val Skinner, with the final round taking place on Wednesday.

Modified stableford scoring: The scoring for the tournament is a modified stableford format with 10 points for an albatross, 8 for a hole-in-one, 6 for eagle, 3 for birdie, 1 for par, 0 for bogey, and minus 2 for double-bogey or higher.
Mulder defends: Former MLB All-Star pitcher Mark Mulder, a two-time champion of the event, will look to defend his 2016 title.
