Chicago, IL (July 11, 2017) – CSN Chicago (CSN), the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox, continues to delve into the lives of some of the biggest names in Chicago sports with its candid, monthly, one-on-one interview series Inside Look presented by Cadillac.

Debuting Sunday, July 16 at 4:30 PM CT (immediately following White Sox Postgame Live), CSN’s Chuck Garfien hosts an exclusive one-on-one interview with former Chicago White Sox standout/2017 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee TIM RAINESNOTE: Live stream of this program will also be available at CSNChicago.com/WatchLive or via the NBC Sports app to authenticated CSN Chicago subscribers.

Considered by many as one of the greatest lead-off hitters and baserunners in Major League Baseball history, Raines has certainly more-than-earned his upcoming HOF induction later this month.  Raines spent an astounding 23 seasons in the big leagues (five with the White Sox, 1991-95) and compiled numerous jaw-dropping career stats, including earning three World Series titles, seven All-Star appearances, four-straight years as the NL’s stolen base champion, along with an NL batting title in ’86 (hitting .334), among other accomplishments.  Raines finished his career with over 2,500 games played, over 2,600 hits, close to 1,000 RBI, over 800 stolen bases, over 1,300 walks and a stellar final career .294 batting average and an .810 OPS.  In this edition of “Inside Look,” Raines discusses everything from growing up in Florida and his choice of playing baseball over football, his well-publicized addiction/recovery from his early career use of cocaine, joining the White Sox after 12-straight career-defining seasons with the Montreal Expos, his latter career bout with lupus, the long wait for his Hall of Fame call, and much more.

In addition, viewers are urged to check out CSN’s website, CSNChicago.com, for additional interview content never before seen on TV.  Fans will also be able to watch every Inside Look guest interview online after it debuts on CSN.  CSN will also re-air Inside Look with Tim Raines on the following dates/times: Mon, July 17 at 9:30 PM (on CSN+HD) – Wed, July 19 at 2:30 PM – Thu, July 20 at 12:30 PM – Sun, July 23 at 4:30 PM – Mon, July 24 at 5:00 PM & 12:30 AM – Fri, July 28 at 6:00 PM (on CSN+HD) – Sun, July 30 at NOON & 5:00 PM & Mon, July 31 at 4:30 PM (on CSN+HD). Note the following quotes from Inside Look with Tim Raines presented by Cadillac premiering Sunday, July 16 at 4:30 PM on CSN:

Raines on getting the official Baseball Hall of Fame induction phone call:
“Finally. When I first got the call, I was numb. When the phone rang, I got nervous, but I knew what it was. It was kind of like getting a call you are expecting, but you are not expecting. Then when it happens it feels like a dream, but it is real. I was just so happy.”

Raines on his addiction with cocaine:
“I was a young man. I was 20-21. We had just lost out going to a World Series. Just a young man being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn’t see it coming. I never felt like my career would make a turn that way, but it did. I was in a big city, I am a small town guy in a big city and I just got caught up in the wrong crowd. It is a drug that is very addicting. I would urge people not to try it because if you try it, you will be in trouble. It came to a head one day when I didn’t show up to a game. They sent the doctor over and I spilled the beans. I got caught up in it. (During games) I remember I had it in my back pocket. I would go head first because I had the container in my back pocket and I didn’t want it to smash. It is a tough drug to deal with. For me, it was not the right thing to do. I really don’t know how I did it.”

Raines on the support of his parents throughout his career:
“To have my parents, my mom and dad, especially my mom, she watched every game and she was kind of my coach. She always said ‘take a walk and steal some bases!’ She would get on me and I knew I needed it. I cannot wait to stand up in front of them and show them ‘your son made it.’ That is the one thing I cannot wait for.”
