STAMFORD, Conn. – June 22, 2017 — NBC Sports Group continues its coverage of the 2017 America’s Cup Match this weekend on NBC, as defending champion ORACLE TEAM USA battles Emirates Team New Zealand in a rematch of the historic 2013 event.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of the 2017 America’s Cup.

The 2017 America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton, is a best-of-13/first to seven points event. NBC Sports’ coverage continues Saturday at 1 p.m. ET with Race 5 and Race 6 on NBC, and continues on Sunday on NBC at 1 p.m. ET with Race 7 and Race 8.

ORACLE TEAM USA aims to defend the America’s Cup for a third consecutive time, following one of the most dramatic comebacks in the history of sport at the 2013 America’s Cup. In 2013 in San Francisco, ORACLE TEAM USA and skipper Jimmy Spithill trailed Team New Zealand by a score of 8-1, before winning eight consecutive races to stun the sailing world and retain the oldest trophy in international sport.

Emirates Team New Zealand won the first four races last weekend, and leads 3-0 in the standings, after starting the competition with a negative point because ORACLE TEAM USA won the qualifying leg. Emirates Team New Zealand needs four more victories to capture the 2017 America’s Cup, which would be their first victory since 2003.

Veteran announcer Todd Harris will anchor NBC Sports Group’s coverage on-site from Bermuda’s Great Sound during the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton. He will be joined by Nathan Outteridge, who served as skipper for Team Artemis (Sweden) at this year’s America’s Cup, as well as Chris Draper, who handled helmsman duties for Team Softbank Japan.

For the second consecutive time, NBC Sports Group is employing the Emmy Award-winning AC LiveLine graphics package to provide viewers real-time on-course information throughout the event. Created by the same Emmy Award-winning team that developed the yellow first-down line widely used in the broadcast of football, this revolutionary graphics system enables embedded technical aids for viewers, such as ahead-behind lines so audiences can clearly see who is leading the race.

AC LiveLine won an Emmy Award for technical achievement in 2012. In addition, the live broadcasts of America’s Cup class racing were nominated for the 2013 Emmy Awards and 2012 Royal Television Society Awards.

If ORACLE TEAM USA wins one race this weekend, coverage will continue next Monday at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Full telecast details are below.
