STAMFORD, Conn. — June 1, 2017 — NBC Sports Group stands just one month away from its 2017 debut of live NASCAR Cup and XFINITY Series racing. On Saturday, July 1 at 7 p.m. ET, NBC will kick off its coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series season, live from Daytona International Speedway.  As part of the countdown to Daytona, beginning next week NASCAR America will feature daily segments and highlights celebrating the most iconic moments from the track.

 

NBC SPORTS LAUNCHES 2017 NASCAR ON NBC MARKETING CAMPAIGN

 

NBC Sports is surrounding the countdown to the 2017 NASCAR on NBC season, with a comprehensive marketing campaign shining a spotlight on many of the sport’s top drivers. The campaign debuted yesterday evening, during Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, with a poignant spot featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr. discussing his upcoming “one last time” racing at Daytona International Speedway. NASCAR AMERICA TO ORIGINATE LIVE FROM CHARLOTTE

 

NASCAR America, NBCSN’s daily motorsports show, will originate next week from NBC Sports’ NASCAR studio, in Charlotte. N.C. Hosted by NASCAR on NBC reporter Marty Snider (@HeyMartySnider), next week’s shows will take a deep dive in to the 2017 season and examine where all drivers stand as the half-way point of the season nears. “The Mayor” of NASCAR and NBC Sports analyst Jeff Burton (@JeffBurton), three-time Daytona 500 Champion and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett (@DaleJarrett), and NASCAR on NBC analyst Parker Kligerman (@Pkligerman) will contribute throughout the week.

 

NASCAR AMERICA’S SERIES, MY HOME TRACK: 50 STATES IN 50 SHOWS, WRAPS UP CELEBRATION OF LOCAL RACING COMMUNITIES

 

NASCAR America wraps up its cross-country series, My Home Track: 50 States in 50 Shows, this month. A celebration of local race tracks across the U.S., NASCAR America’s My Home Track: 50 States in 50 Shows will feature the final 14 states on Thursday, June 22, with State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wis., and Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo.  Highlights from the series include double-decker racing in Idaho, and semi-trailer truck racing in Alaska. NBCSN PRESENTS NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES EAST FROM MEMPHIS NEXT THURSDAY, JUNE 8 AT 8 P.M. ET

 

NBCSN presents the sixth race of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season, from Memphis International Raceway, Thursday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET. NASCAR on NBC reporter Dave Burns (@TVDaveburns) and analyst Kligerman provide commentary, as Harrison Burton seeks a second consecutive K&N Pro Series win and third trip to victory lane this season.

In 2017, NBC Sports Group will present the final 20 NASCAR Cup Series races, final 19 NASCAR XFINITY Series events and select NASCAR Regional & Touring Series events.

 

NBC Sports Group’s NASCAR programming also includes NBCSN’s daily motorsports show NASCAR America, coverage of NASCAR’s Awards Ceremonies, the annual NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony, as well as original programming specials. NBC Sports Group concluded the 2016 NASCAR season presenting more hours of trackside coverage and programming than ever before.

 

In 2016, NBC Sports Group continued to innovate and entertain race fans with 630 hours of NASCAR programming, including interactive watch parties, documentary specials and new shoulder programming, in addition to its 366 live trackside hours from 22 different states. In 2016, overall consumption of NASCAR content on NBC Sports’ Digital properties was up 50% vs. 2015, and NASCAR on NBC’s social platforms generated a triple-digit increase in video views, as well as double-digit increase in fan base and impressions compared to the 2015 season.
