ORLANDO, Fla. (May 24, 2017) – The PGA TOUR Champions stages its second major in as many weeks with the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship outside of Washington D.C., airing on both Golf Channel and NBC. Days after winning the Regions Tradition to tie Jack Nicklaus for the most senior major titles all-time with eight, Bernhard Langer will make his first attempt at surpassing Nicklaus this week. The European Tour stages its flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship from Wentworth, with an elite field taking part in the inaugural Rolex Series event, playing out on Golf Channel with more than 25 hours devoted to live tournament coverage. The PGA TOUR remains in Texas, shifting to Fort Worth for the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, as Jordan Spieth defends, while Sergio Garcia, Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson also are in the field. Ariya Jutanugarn is set to defend her 2016 title at the LPGA Volvik Championship in Michigan. And next week, Golf Channel will continue its comprehensive coverage of the 2017 NCAA Division I Golf Championships, transitioning to the men’s competition, as 30 teams and six individuals convene at Rich Harvest Farms outside of Chicago. Airing Monday-Wednesday, May 29-31 on Golf Channel, the championships will crown both an individual (Monday) and team (Wednesday) national champion.

Langer makes first attempt at surpassing Nicklaus: Bernhard Langer’s victory on Sunday at the Regions Tradition placed him in a tie with Jack Nicklaus for the most senior major titles of all time with eight. This week, Langer will make his first attempt at trying to surpass Nicklaus to become the outright holder of the record.
Mediate defends: Rocco Mediate finished three strokes ahead of (then) two-time defending champion Colin Montgomerie to claim his third PGA TOUR Champions victory.

Format: Hosted by Northern Illinois University at Rich Harvest Farms, the 2017 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships will feature teams and student-athletes who advanced from the NCAA Regional Championships. Competing in an individual stroke-play format over 72 holes Friday-Monday, May 26-29, the top eight teams will advance to the team match play tournament Tuesday and Wednesday, May 30-31. Two national championships – individual and team – will be decided over the three day span, May 29-31.
Coverage: Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage of the men’s championships will begin on Monday, May 29 to crown the individual national champion, as well as to track the teams attempting to qualify for the eight-team match-play tournament. Golf Channel’s coverage also will include all three rounds of the team match-play tournament on Tuesday, May 30 and Wednesday, May 31.
