STAMFORD, Conn. – May 23, 2017 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix, one of the world’s most iconic racing events, from picturesque Monte Carlo, this Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBC. The F1 Monaco Grand Prix will highlight NBC Sports Group’s comprehensive “Biggest Day in Motorsports” coverage, spanning Formula One, the Verizon IndyCar Series, and NASCAR.

NBC Sports Group is the U.S. television home of motorsports, providing exclusive Formula One coverage, exclusive cable coverage of the Verizon IndyCar Series on NBCSN, and the final 20 NASCAR Cup Series races, as well as 19 XFINITY Series events. NBC’s coverage of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix kicks off the “Biggest Day In Motorsports” this Sunday, followed by the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 (ABC) and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 (FOX).


F1 MONACO GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY AT 7:30 A.M. ET ON NBC – COVERAGE BEGINS THURSDAY AT 8 A.M. ET ON NBCSN

This year’s Monaco Grand Prix features a renewed rivalry between Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. The two drivers have combined to win seven F1 World Championships, and are poised for a season-long duel atop the standings this season. Vettel (104 points) currently holds a slight edge over Hamilton (98 points), but Hamilton is coming off a win at their most recent race in Spain on May 14. Hamilton is a two-time winner at Monaco, including a win last season, while Vettel’s lone victory in the Monaco Grand Prix came in 2011.

The field will also feature 2009 Formula One World Champion and 2009 Monaco Grand Prix winner Jenson Button, who will drive for McLaren Honda in place of Fernando Alonso, who is competing in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500.

NBC Sports Group begins its comprehensive coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix with live streaming of Practice 1 on Thursday morning at 4 a.m. ET on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app, followed by NBCSN’s presentation of Practice 2 on Thursday at 8 a.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream Practice 3 on Saturday morning at 5 a.m. ET, leading into live qualifying coverage on NBCSN at 8 a.m. ET. Sunday’s coverage begins at 7 a.m. ET with F1 Countdown on NBCSN, leading into live race coverage at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBC. F1 Extra will recap the action on NBCSN at 10 a.m. ET, immediately followed by an encore of the Monaco Grand Prix at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call this weekend’s action, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton, all on-site from Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Pre-race coverage on NBC and NBCSN will include a feature on this year’s clash between Vettel and Hamilton, an essay from veteran motorsports journalist Sam Posey on the history of Monaco, and how leaders of recent races at Monaco have let leads slip away.

NBCSN PRESENTS LIVE INDIANAPOLIS 500 CARB DAY COVERAGE FRIDAY AT 11 A.M. ET

NBCSN, the cable home of the Verizon IndyCar Series, will provide live coverage of Indianapolis 500 Carb Day, beginning Friday at 11 a.m. ET. In addition, NBCSN will air a live presentation of the Indy Lights race from Indianapolis at noon ET on Friday. Indy 500 coverage concludes on Saturday with the Indy 500 Festival Parade at 11 p.m. ET.  Kevin Lee will lead NBCSN’s Carb Day coverage, filling in for Diffey who will be in Monaco, alongside analysts Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Jon Beekhuis, Marty Snider, Katie Hargitt and Robin Miller will handle the pits.

NASCAR AMERICA MOTORSPORTS SPECIAL PREVIEWS SUNDAY’S “BIGGEST DAY IN MOTORSPORTS” FRIDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET

NBCSN surrounds Memorial Day Weekend’s “Biggest Day in Motorsports” with its annual two-and-half-hour NASCAR America Motorsports Special, this Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Coverage will highlight the latest news and updates ahead of Sunday’s F1 Monaco Grand Prix, well as the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR Coca-Cola 600. Features include an inside look at Will Power’s season-changing victory in the IndyCar Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway following months of diminished performance due to family issues, an examination of the ongoing wheel-to-wheel rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, and a retirement feature on seven-time AMA champion Ryan Dungey.

Friday’s show also features the best of Scan All, including highlights from the best radio scanner moments of the 2017 season to date, and a feature with Hendrick Motorsports’ former pit crew coach, Greg Morin, on his new role assisting combat veterans at the Boulder Crest Retreat. Analyst Parker Kligerman takes viewers lap-by-lap through all three race courses in a special simulator segment.

NASCAR America’s Carolyn Manno will host Friday’s motorsports special from NBC Sports Group’s headquarters in Stamford, Conn. alongside analysts Kyle Petty and Kligerman. LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP – GLEN HELEN RACEWAY – SATURDAY AT 6 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports Group continues its coverage of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season with this week’s event at Glen Helen Raceway on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Last week, Eli Tomac and Zach Osborne each recorded 1-1 sweeps in the 450 and 250 Class events at Hangtown to open the 2016 season.
