(2) OTTAWA SENATORS AT (WC1) NEW YORK RANGERS – GAME 4 TONIGHT AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – SENATORS LEAD 2-1

The Rangers won Game 3 by a score of 4-1 in convincing fashion to draw within one game of the Senators in the series on Tuesday night. After allowing six goals in Game 2, Henrik Lundqvist allowed just one goal on 27 shots for his 60th career postseason win – the most among active goaltenders. Mats Zuccarello had a goal and an assist, while former Senator Mika Zibanejad had an assist in the win and leads the club with seven points this postseason. Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who scored four goals in Ottawa’s Game 2 win, scored the Sens’ only goal in Game 3.

New York finds itself in the same situation as the first round, when they trailed Montreal 2-1 in the series before rattling off three straight victories. The Rangers are no stranger to comebacks in the postseason. In 2014 and 2015, New York erased 3-1 series deficits against Pittsburgh and Washington.

THIS DATE IN STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF HISTORY – NHL ON NBC ANALYSTS BRIAN BOUCHER AND KEITH JONES WIN LONGEST GAME IN MODERN ERA

On May 4, 2000 – seventeen years ago today – NHL on NBC analysts Brian Boucher and Keith Jones played in the longest NHL game in the modern era. Boucher and Jones were members of the Philadelphia Flyers team that defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth overtime of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2000.

The game ended with 7:59 remaining in the fifth overtime on a goal by Philadelphia’s Keith Primeau, and Boucher allowed just one goal on 58 shots. Boucher has been “Mr. Overtime” during this postseason – seven of the 10 games he has called have required overtime, including three that have gone to double overtime, and all 10 have been one-goal games.
