NBC SPORTS GROUP TO SERVE UP COVERAGE OF ALL EIGHT AVP PRO BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOUR EVENTS THIS YEAR

First Stop of the Season, Huntington Beach, this Sunday at 5 p.m. on NBCSN

Chris Marlowe, Dain Blanton, Kevin Wong and Tanith White to Call 2017 AVP Season on NBC and NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 3, 2017 – For the third consecutive year, NBC Sports Group will present coverage of all eight AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour events of the season on NBC and NBCSN. Coverage of the Tour begins in Huntington Beach, Calif., this Sunday, May 7, at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group’s 2017 AVP Tour presentation continues Sunday, May 21, at 5 p.m. ET with live coverage from Austin on NBCSN, and makes stops in New York City, Seattle, San Francisco, Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Manhattan Beach, Calif., before culminating with the AVP Championships in Chicago, Ill., in September. NBC will present coverage of two stops during the tour, New York City on Sunday, June 11, and Manhattan Beach on Sunday, August 20 (full schedule below).

The AVP is the exclusive domestic beach volleyball home of the nation’s top athletes, including two-time Olympic medalist April Ross, 2008 Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser, and 2016 Olympians Jake Gibb, Casey Patterson, and Nick Lucena. The international field features 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Xi Zhang of China and 2016 Olympian Sarah Pavan of Canada. In addition, Olympic gold medalist and four-time indoor volleyball Olympian for Team USA Reid Priddy returns to pro beach volleyball.

Veteran broadcaster and Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe will serve as the play-by-play announcer for all AVP telecasts on NBC and NBCSN. Marlowe will be joined by a combination of beach volleyball Olympian and three-time All-American Kevin Wong (analyst), Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton (reporter), and Tanith White (reporter).
