STAMFORD, Conn. – April 20, 2017 – NBCSN’s coverage of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series rolls on this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, dubbed the “Augusta of race tracks,” with the IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Coverage from Alabama begins Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with qualifying.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of this week’s IndyCar coverage airing on NBCSN.

James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) took the checkered flag at the Grand Prix of Long Beach two weekends ago for his first victory since his life-threatening accident at Indianapolis in 2015. Alonso will be on-site in Alabama for his first IndyCar race since announcing that he will skip the F1 Monaco Grand Prix to race in this year’s Indianapolis 500.

Leigh Diffey (play-by-play) will call the action alongside 2003 CART champion and analyst Paul Tracy, as well as driver and analyst Townsend Bell. Marty SniderRobin Miller, Kevin Lee, and Katie Hargitt will handle coverage in the pits in Alabama.

In addition, NBCSN will showcase the Indy Lights developmental series with a presentation of the Indy Lights race late next Tuesday, April 25, at 12 a.m. ET. Kevin Lee will call the action, alongside Anders Krohn and reporter Katie Hargitt.
