Golf Channel Notable Quotes
Golf Central Live From the Masters
Friday, April 7, 2017 (A.M. News Coverage)
Augusta National Golf Club
Augusta, Ga.

William McGirt, 2-under par after Friday’s second round, joined Golf Channel’s set following his round
William McGirt – “I guess the good thing for me is that I don’t have any negative experiences to look back on. In my practice, this is the wind direction that we’ve had, so I’ve kind of prepared in these conditions and I feel like I can play the golf course. The first hole is absolutely brutal right now. The third shot on 15 might be the scariest wedge shot in golf. It’s just hard. But it’s so much fun and we’re trying to take it all in this week and enjoy it.  I don’t know if this is going to be my first of many Masters or my first and only Masters. I don’t want to look many years down the road and say, ‘Gosh I wish I had enjoyed it a little bit more.’ So we are trying to take it all in and have fun with it.”
McGirt – “It’s hard out there. But it’s really, really fun. This place never gets old. I would stay and play here every day if they would let me.”

On Friday’s windy conditions during the Masters second round
David Duval – “It is fascinating theater right now. It really is.”
Colin Montgomerie – “You’ve got to take it on the chin. You’ve got to accept the conditions. It is extremely difficult out there.”

On Charley Hoffman, 4-under par after Friday’s second round
Duval – “It is not surprising at all to see Charley right the ship coming down the stretch of his second round today.”

On Fred Couples
Montgomerie – “He comes alive. Every year he seems to do well here. He loves it so much. I’m a great believer that if you love to do something, you are quite good at it. And Fred is quite good at playing here at Augusta.”
Duval – “It brings out the best in some players who have been here for a long, long time.”
