NBC SPORTS’ “PUSH FOR THE PLAYOFFS” FEATURES 10 GAMES WITH STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS IN FINAL 8 DAYS

NBCSN Flexes Into Lightning-Bruins and Senators-Bruins, Adds Oilers-Kings and Blackhawks-Ducks on Final Week of NHL Regular Season

NBCSN to Present “Whip-Around” Coverage of Final Night of Regular Season – Sunday, April 9 – With Live Look-Ins of Multiple Games Throughout The Program

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 31, 2017 – NBC Sports heads into the home stretch of its coverage of the NHL “Push For The Playoffs,” featuring 10 games in eight days, all with Stanley Cup Playoff implications on NBC and NBCSN. Coverage begins this Sunday and concludes with a special program on the final night of the regular season in which NBCSN will provide “whip-around” coverage, pivoting from game to game to bring viewers the most relevant action as it happens.

Eleven NHL teams that have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs or are in position to qualify will be featured, including all four current division leaders.

This slate of games includes additions and flexes to NBCSN’s original schedule, which will bring NHL fans the matchups with the greatest impact on the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs. Following are the changes to NBCSN’s final week of NHL regular-season coverage:


  • Tuesday, April 4 – NBCSN has flexed out of its originally-scheduled Blackhawks-Avalanche matchup to present an NHL doubleheader with playoff implications. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET, when the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Boston Bruins, as both teams vie for a spot in the playoffs. Coverage continues at 10:30 p.m. ET, when Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers visit the Los Angeles Kings, with Edmonton pushing for its first division title in 30 years.

  • Thursday, April 6 – NBCSN has flexed out of Predators-Stars to present live coverage of the Ottawa Senators at Boston Bruins at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage continues at 10 p.m. ET, when the Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks host the Western Conference-leading Chicago Blackhawks.

  • Sunday, April 9 -- On the final night of the NHL regular season, Sunday, April 9, NBCSN will showcase “whip-around” coverage at 7 p.m. ET, providing live look-ins across the slate of games with playoff implications. The program will also look ahead to first-round matchups as the playoff picture becomes clearer towards the end of the night.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app — NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs — will provide live streaming coverage of all remaining NHL regular-season matchups.
