NBC SPORTS GROUP PRESENTS 2017 ISU WORLD SPRINT SPEED SKATING ACTION ON UNIVERSAL HD THIS WEEKEND

Coverage Begins This Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Universal HD

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 23, 2017 – NBC Sports Group presents coverage of the 2017 ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, beginning this Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. ET on Universal HD. Coverage continues on Universal HD this Sunday, Feb. 26, at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Highlighting the women’s field for Team USA is 1500m world record-holder Heather Bergsma, who looks to add to her gold medals in the 1000m and 1500m events at the 2017 World Single Distance Championships. The two-time Olympian has finished in the top three at World Sprint Championships in each of the last four years, winning gold in 2013, bronze in 2014 and silver in 2015 and 2016.

Bergsma will be joined by fellow World Single Distance Championships teammates Mitch Whitmore, Jonathan Garcia, Sugar Todd and Jerica Tandiman.

Nick Gismondi calls the action, joined by analyst and Olympic gold medalist Dan Jansen on Universal HD.

NBCSN will host an encore presentation of the event on Saturday, Mar. 11, at 7 p.m. ET. For NBCSN’s coverage, Gismondi will be joined by analyst and Olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek.
