NBC SPORTS GROUP TO PROVIDE UNPRECEDENTED COVERAGE OF 2017 FIS NORDIC WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGINNING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23

NBC Sports Group to Present More Than 60 Hours of Nordic World Ski Championships Coverage from Lahti, Finland

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 17, 2017 – NBC Sports Group will present an unprecedented 63 hours of coverage from the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, Finland, from Feb. 23-March 5, across NBCSN, Universal HD, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Coverage begins on Thursday, February 23 with the men’s and women’s cross country individual sprints. Throughout the Nordic World Ski Championships, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will provide live streaming coverage of each day’s events, which will then air on NBCSN or Universal HD later that day. More than 700 athletes from 60 different countries are expected to compete in 21 disciplines in Lahti.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide comprehensive live streaming coverage the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.

Bill Doleman will call the Nordic World Ski Championships alongside analyst Johnny Spillane, a three-time Olympic silver medalist in nordic combined.

Coverage of Olympic Sports on NBC Sports Group platforms is a presentation of the Olympic Channel, Home of Team USA.


CROSS COUNTRY

Each day that competition takes place, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream coverage which will air later in the day on either NBCSN or Universal HD. Cross country action comprises nearly half of NBC Sports Group’s 63 hours of Nordic World Ski Championships coverage. U.S. Olympian and 2013 World Champion Jessie Diggins and four-time Olympian Kikkan Randall headline the U.S. hopefuls in Lahti.

NORDIC COMBINED

Nordic combined coverage at the Nordic World Ski Championships begins on Friday, Feb. 24, highlighting the individual normal hill, individual large hill, team and team sprint events. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will live stream all nordic combined events, which will be televised on Universal HD later that same day. U.S. Olympians and brothers Bryan Fletcher and Taylor Fletcher will represent the Americans in Lahti. Below is the full schedule:

SKI JUMPING

Streaming coverage of ski jumping begins in Friday, Feb. 24, at 10:30 a.m. ET with the women’s normal hill, which will also be televised on NBCSN later that day at 1:30 p.m. ET. Saturday’s coverage features the men’s normal hill, followed by the mixed team event on Sunday, Feb. 26, the men’s large hill on Thursday, March 2, and the men’s team event on Saturday, March 4. 2013 World Champion and U.S. Olympian Sarah Hendrickson is slated to represent the Americans.
