STAMFORD, Conn. – January 25, 2017 – This week’s special 60-minute Championship Weekend edition of NFL Turning Point, debuting Thursday at 1:30 a.m. ET / Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. PT on NBCSN, analyzes QB Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons matchup with the Green Bay Packers, and examines the impact by WR Julio Jones in the victory.

In addition, the show takes an inside look at QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and shines a spotlight on the performances by WR Chris Hogan and WR Julian Edelman. and examines the dominant third quarter performance that changed the momentum of the game in the Patriots’ favor.

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, NFL Turning Point, co-produced by NFL Films, airs weekly throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode features:

  • Packers-Falcons: NFL Films analyzes the performances of QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones. The segment also studies the fumbles and costly errors made by the Packers early in the game, and examines how Ryan and the Falcons capitalized on Green Bay’s mistakes. In addition, the segment features in-game audio from Ryan, who was wired-for-sound for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
  • Steelers-Patriots: NFL Turning Point shines a spotlight on QB Tom Brady’s franchise playoff record as he threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns, as well as the combined 298 yards and three touchdowns between WR Chris Hogan and WR Julian Edelman. The segment reviews how the New England defense held WR Antonio Brown to just seven receptions for 77 yards and no touchdowns. In addition, the segment features in-game audio from Edelman, who was wired-for-sound during Sunday’s matchup.

 

Each week NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL matchups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show also features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long-form game-of-the-week style narratives that include pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

During the 2016-17 season NBCSN will air a total of 21 NFL Turning Point episodes. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, will look back at the “turning point” of Super Bowl LI.
