— PROGRAMMING ALERT — NBCSN WILL TELEVISE COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS-NEW YORK RANGERS ON SATURDAY NIGHT IF COLUMBUS TIES NHL RECORD WITH 17TH CONSECUTIVE WIN TONIGHT

Blue Jackets Could Set NHL Record with 18 Consecutive Wins by Defeating Washington Tonight and N.Y. Rangers on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 5, 2017 – If the Columbus Blue Jackets defeat the Washington Capitals tonight, NBCSN will televise Columbus’ attempt to set the NHL record for most consecutive wins this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET when they host the New York Rangers.

Columbus has won 16 straight games, and can tie the NHL record for consecutive wins (17) with a victory tonight in Washington. If the Blue Jackets then defeat the Rangers on Saturday night, they will set the NHL record with 18 consecutive wins. The Blue Jackets beat the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday to move within one win of the NHL record, set by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1992-93 season.

Prior to tonight’s originally-scheduled Sabres-Blackhawks game on NBCSN, NHL Live will begin pre-game coverage at 7 p.m. ET – 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled – to provide expansive coverage of tonight’s Blue Jackets-Capitals game.

Chris Cuthbert (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call Rangers-Blue Jackets from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday night, if Columbus defeats Washington this evening.
