Coverage Begins With Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Tripleheader on Saturday, January 7 Featuring UMass – VCU at 1 p.m. ET
A-10 Basketball Doubleheader on Sunday, January 8 Tips Off at Noon ET With Richmond – George Washington
STAMFORD, Conn. – January 5, 2017 – NBCSN tips off its 2017 college basketball coverage with five Atlantic 10 men’s basketball games this weekend, highlighted by an A-10 tripleheader on Saturday, January 7, and A-10 doubleheader on Sunday, January 8.
Coverage begins Saturday at 1 p.m. ET, when VCU (12-3) hosts UMass (10-5) at the Siegel Center, in Richmond, Va. Mike Corey calls Saturday’s game alongside former Division I basketball player and coach Ron Thompson.
The action continues at 3 p.m. ET, when defending A-10 men’s basketball champion Saint Joseph’s (7-6) takes on Fordham (6-9) at Rose Hill Gymnasium, in Bronx, N.Y. Rick Allen (play-by-play) and former Division I basketball player Rosalyn Gold-Onwude (analyst) will call the matchup.
Saturday’s A-10 tripleheader on NBCSN will culminate at 5 p.m. ET, when George Mason (11-4) takes the court against St. Bonaventure (9-5) at the Reilly Center, in St. Bonaventure, N.Y. Kenny Rice (play-by-play) and Blaine Fowler (analyst) will provide commentary.
NBCSN’s A-10 doubleheader on Sunday gets underway at Noon ET, when George Washington (8-6) hosts Richmond (8-6). Corey and Thompson will handle the call.
The weekend of coverage wraps up at 2 p.m. ET, when Davidson (7-5) hits the court against Saint Louis (4-10), at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo. Todd Harris (play-by-play) and Dave Kaplan (analyst) will call the action.
All A-10 basketball games televised on NBCSN will also be streamed live on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
A-10 COVERAGE ON NBCSN
NBCSN will present more than 35 Atlantic 10 basketball games during the 2016-17 season, including 25 regular-season Atlantic 10 men’s basketball matchups, as well as exclusive coverage of the second round and quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena.
NBCSN’s 2016-17 A-10 men’s basketball schedule features all 14 member schools, including Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph’s, Saint Louis, and VCU. The schedule boasts three games with 2016 A-10 Championship winner Saint Joseph’s, and six games featuring teams from last season’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (Dayton, Saint Joseph’s and VCU).
In addition, NBCSN will present three regular-season A-10 women’s basketball games, featuring five member schools, including Dayton, Fordham, 2016 Atlantic 10 Champion George Washington, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis.
