TEAM USA WINTER CHAMPIONS SERIES – SATURDAY AT 2:30 P.M. ET ON NBC AND NBCSN

NBC’s coverage of big air snowboarding kicks off the Team USA Winter Champions Series on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET, and also serves as part of the opening weekend of the 21st season of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix. 2014 Olympic slopestyle gold medalist Jamie Anderson and Julia Marino, who finished second in big air at last month’s Olympic Test Event, lead the U.S. women, while 2014 Olympian Ryan Stassel is among the American men expected to compete.

The women’s FIL Luge World Cup follows big air snowboarding on NBC. Saturday’s event takes place at the Utah Olympic Park sliding center in Park City, which hosted the events of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Winter Champions Series telecast will feature sliders Summer Britcher and Erin Hamlin, the 2014 Olympic bronze medalist, as they look to repeat their first and second-place finishes at Park City in 2015.

Coverage shifts to NBCSN at 4:30 p.m. ET, when the U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey Team hosts Canada in a clash of bitter rivals. Team USA defeated Canada in their most recent matchup, a 5-3 win on Nov. 5 in Finland to capture the Four Nations Cup. The game will feature several Olympians, and is likely to include American standouts Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, and Hilary Knight. The only two teams to win Olympic gold have met four times for the gold medal. Canada has won three of the four matchups, most recently in 2014, but the Americans have defeated the Canadians at the two World Championships held since Sochi.

Todd Harris (play-by-play), Todd Richards (analyst), and Tina Dixon (reporter) will call the Big Air event. Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), Kate Hansen (analyst), and Lewis Johnson (reporter) will call women’s luge coverage. Gord Miller (play-by-play), AJ Mleczko (analyst), and Leila Rahimi (reporter) will call Team USA-Canada women’s hockey.
