ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2016) – Golf Channel’s Morning Drive is taking an in-depth look at design in the golf industry – golf course architecture, fashion and equipment – with daily features, interviews with industry experts and special guest appearances as a part of Design Week, which kicked off Monday and will run through the rest of the week.

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN:
Winter Park Country Club (Orlando, Fla.) – Golf Channel travel insider Matt Ginella profiles the newly renovated Winter Park Country Club in Orlando, Fla., a popular nine-hole walking golf course that opened in 1915 and underwent a complete renovation in 2016. The 40-acre course, which is included on the Florida Historic Golf Trail list, received a new layout, grass and irrigation system. Beginning Tuesday and airing daily through Sunday, Morning Drive will delve into different elements that went into the renovation. On Saturday, Ginella will sit down with Keith Rhebb and Riley Johns, course architects in charge of the renovation.

Lions Municipal Golf Course (Austin, Texas) – Ginella and Hall-of-Famer Ben Crenshaw will introduce viewers to the most frequently visited municipal golf course in Austin, Texas, and the first desegregated golf course in the south – Lions Municipal Golf Course. The lease for the city-operated golf course, owned by the University of Texas, is set to expire in 2019. Crenshaw will give viewers insight into the rich history of the golf course.

Pinehurst No. 4 Renovation (Pinehurst, N.C.) – Friday on Morning Drive, renowned course architect Gil Hanse – course designer for the Olympic Golf Course in Rio – and Tom Pashley, president of Pinehurst Resort, will join the show in-studio to discuss the upcoming redesign of Pinehurst No. 4 and the development of a new short course on the property. Both projects will begin in 2017 and are scheduled to open in 2018.

FASHION DESIGN:
Morning Drive hosts Gary Williams and Cara Robinson will discuss trends in fashion design in men’s and women’s golf throughout the week. PGA TOUR professional Ian Poulter joined the show Monday to discuss fashion in the golf industry and his clothing company, IJP Design. Major champion Graeme McDowell is scheduled to join the show in-studio on Friday to talk about his apparel company and everything that goes into creating a line of golf clothes.

EQUIPMENT DESIGN:
Golf Channel contributor Matt Adams will give viewers an inside glimpse into equipment design with daily features on various club manufacturers, which began Monday by going inside Cleveland’s Tour Van to learn about the technology of their new wedges.

Adams will sit down with the winner of Golf Channel’s Driver vs. Driver series, Eric Sillies, and Wilson’s director of global innovation, Michael Vrska, to discuss the process that went into the development and design of the winning driver, the Wilson Staff Triton. In addition, Adams will visit with PGA TOUR professional Jason Bohn to discuss the Titleist clubs in his bag, and a look into the process of grinding wedges as provided by Callaway Golf.
