STAMFORD, Conn. – November 10, 2016 – NBC Sports Group continues its 26th season of Notre Dame Football on NBC this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, when the Fighting Irish host the Army Black Knights in the 2016 Shamrock Series at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish (3-6) enter Saturday’s game following a 28-27 loss against Navy. Army head coach Jeff Monken and the Black Knights (5-4) travel to San Antonio following a 31-12 loss to Air Force.

The Fighting Irish will play the Black Knights for the 51st time in their history, with the rivalry dating back to 1913. The two teams last met in the 2010 Shamrock Series, when Notre Dame defeated Army 27-3 at Yankee Stadium in New York, NY. The Fighting Irish hold a 38-8-4 all-time lead in the series between the two schools.

During their century long rivalry, the two programs have regularly played each other at historic off campus venues. From 1925-1929,and again from 1931-1946, Notre Dame and Army’s annual matchup was held at Yankee Stadium. The Fighting Irish and Black Knights have also played each other at Soldier Field, in Chicago, Ill., Giants Stadium, in East Rutherford, N.J., Philadelphia Municipal Stadium, in Philadelphia, Pa., and Shea Stadium, in New York, N.Y.

Saturday’s matchup serves as the eighth edition of the Shamrock Series, Notre Dame’s annual off-site home game. The Fighting Irish are 7-0 in the series and have outscored their opponents 239-105 in the previous seven Shamrock Series games. Past Shamrock Series games have been played at Fenway Park (2015), Lucas Oil Stadium (2014), AT&T Stadium (2013), Soldier Field (2012), FedExField (2011), Yankee Stadium (2010) and the Alamodome (2009).
