NBC Sports Produces TNF This Week

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 9, 2016 – NBC Sports presents the first rematch of one of the most dramatic Super Bowls in modern history this week on Sunday Night Football, when Tom Brady and the first-place New England Patriots host Russell Wilson and the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks. Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, November 13, at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Sunday marks the first rematch of the Seahawks and Patriots since their dramatic showdown in Super Bowl XLIX, which Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth called for NBC in February 2015.  New England’s dramatic 28-24 win, punctuated by Malcolm Butler’s goal line interception in the game’s waning moments, is the most-watched show in U.S. television history (114.4 million viewers).

New England (7-1), which is coming off a bye in Week 9, currently boasts the best record in the AFC and has won four straight games, including a 41-25 win over the Bills in Buffalo in Week 8. Tom Brady has been nearly perfect in his four starts at quarterback this season, throwing for 12 touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 73.1% of his passes.

Seattle (5-2-1) is coming off a 31-25 win over Buffalo, as Russell Wilson passed for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Jimmy Graham had eight catches for 103 yards in the game, and was on the receiving end of both of Wilson’s touchdown passes.

The teams’ combined .781 winning percentage is the highest for the first regular-season rematch between teams that played in a Super Bowl since 1993 (Giants-Bills, .833).

Calling Seahawks-Patriots are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 31st season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.

Football Night in America, the most-watched weekly studio show in sports, is hosted by Mike Tirico, who will report on-site from Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., and Dan Patrick, who will host from NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Patrick is joined by Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison, and Mike Florio of NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalkPaul Burmeister will report from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pa., on the Cowboys-Steelers game.
