STAMFORD, Conn. – September 1, 2016 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the AVP Championships, the final AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour stop of the 2016 season, this Sunday, September 4, at 1 p.m. ET from Chicago, Ill. Additionally, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream live coverage of the event.
Beach volleyball’s biggest stars take to the sand on the shores of Lake Michigan for three days of main draw play, September 2 – 4. Players scheduled to compete include two-time Olympic medalist April Ross; Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser, two-time Olympian Sean Rosenthal; Olympians Jake Gibb, Casey Patterson, Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat; as well as rising stars Theo Brunner, Tri Bourne, Summer Ross, Emily Day, Lane Carico.
Veteran broadcaster and Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe will serve as the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s broadcast. Marlowe will be joined by beach volleyball Olympian and three-time All-American Kevin Wong (analyst), and Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton (reporter).
