STAMFORD, Conn. – August 10, 2016 – NBC’s primetime coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad tomorrow, Thursday, August 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, is highlighted by swimming gold medal finals as Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in history with 25 medals, and Ryan Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medalist, are expected to face off for the final time in the men’s 200m IM final. Phelps also squares off with two-time reigning world champion Chad le Clos of South Africa in the men’s 100m butterfly semifinals. In addition, Australian Mitch Larkin hopes to snap a U.S. winning streak dating back to 1996 in the men’s 200m backstroke.

Also in primetime, three-time reigning world champion Simone Biles, who earned her first Olympic gold medal on Tuesday in the team competition, looks to become the fourth consecutive American to win Olympic gold in the women’s gymnastics individual all-around.

NBC’s daytime coverage on Thursday begins with gold medal finals in rowing at 10 a.m. ET/PT, immediately followed by women’s water polo as the U.S. takes on China. Daytime coverage continues with beach volleyball and gold medal finals in canoe/kayak at 2:30 p.m. ET/PT.

On NBCSN at 2:30 p.m. ET, American Kayla Harrison aims to defend her 2012 Olympic title in women’s judo, and the gold medal finals in women’s individual archery. Gold medal finals coverage begins on NBCSN with women’s shooting at 10 a.m. ET, followed by men’s rugby at 5:30 p.m. ET, and men’s table tennis at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Live coverage of golf’s return to the Olympic program tees off with the men’s first round at 6:30 a.m. ET on Golf Channel. Golf Channel will provide wraparound news coverage immediately prior to and following live coverage of the competition via Golf Central Live From the Olympics at 5 a.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET.

Tomorrow’s coverage on Telemundo features beach volleyball when Canada takes on Cuba at 11 a.m. ET on the men’s side, and Brazil faces Poland at Noon ET on the women’s side. Coverage also includes men’s basketball as Brazil takes on Croatia at 1:15 p.m. ET.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12

On Friday, August 12, NBC’s primetime coverage at 8 p.m. ET/PT begins with the first qualifying rounds of track & field. Coverage continues with several swimming gold medal finals, highlighted by defending Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky swimming in the 800m freestyle as she aims for what could be her fifth overall gold medal. In addition, Phelps seeks to become the first swimmer to win the same individual event at four consecutive Games in the men’s 100m butterfly.

NBCSN’s live coverage of women’s soccer quarterfinals kicks off Friday at Noon ET when the U.S., which played to a 2-2 draw against Colombia on Tuesday, looks to rebound against Sweden. Coverage on NBCSN continues with Team USA basketball as Diana Taurasi leads the women against Canada at 2:30 p.m. ET, and Kevin Durant and the men face Bogdan Bogdanovic-led Serbia at 6 p.m. ET.

Coverage on NBCSN also includes gold medal finals in men’s individual archery at 4:15 p.m. ET, men’s team foil fencing at 8 p.m. ET, and weightlifting at 11 p.m. ET.

  • Archery – Live coverage includes the men’s individual event in archery (quarterfinals), where Brady Ellison and Zach Garrett — who won a team silver medal together at these Games — will face each other in the quarterfinals.
  • Basketball – Three-time Olympic gold medalists Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and Tamika Catchings guide Team USA in a Group B prelim against Canada. The two teams met in the 2012 Olympic quarterfinals, with the U.S. cruising to a 91-48 victory on their way to a fifth consecutive gold. The U.S. men’s basketball team faces a Serbian team featuring NBA regulars Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nikola Jokic in a Group A match-up. Once integral to Yugoslavia’s success in the sport, Serbia is competing in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament independently for the first time.
  • Fencing – In the men’s team foil final in fencing, Team USA hopes to build off London’s surprising run to the semifinals with its quartet of Race Imboden, Gerek Meinhardt, Miles Chamley-Watson and Alexander Massialas, who won silver in the individual event.

 

USA HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Water Polo – The United States men, headlined by five-time Olympian Tony Azevedo and a youthful core, take on Montenegro, runner-up at the 2016 European Championships, in live coverage of a men’s water polo preliminary.
  • Fencing – Semifinal-round coverage of the men’s team foil event in fencing; the U.S. surprisingly reached the final four in London and followed that with a silver at the 2013 World Championships.

 

MSNBC HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Shooting – Team USA’s Kim Rhode attempts to become the first summer athlete to win an individual medal at six consecutive Olympic Games.

 

CNBC HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Trampoline – Coverage includes the final in women’s trampoline, where China and Canada have combined to win eight of the 12 Olympic medals awarded since the sport debuted in 2000.

 

GOLF CHANNEL HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Golf – The first Olympic golf competition since 1904 continues with Round 2 of men’s action.
