On the UL International Crown and thoughts on Day 1 Matches
Judy Rankin – “I became very invested a couple of years ago at the first event in Maryland. The match play was really good. There was a lot of drama. It is fun to see players interact as a team. I became a fan along with calling golf.”
Rankin – “Momentum plays a role all the time in this game, but in match play, momentum is huge.”
Rankin – “In match play there can be big things that can make a difference, but there can be also very little things, like one particular shot or one particular putt.”
Tom Abbott – “This event will enter a new stratosphere when it goes to Asia in two years. The crowds will really embrace this event. It will be something we have never seen before.”
Karen Stupples – “It’s amazing how silent it seems when the pressure is on.”
Rankin – “The U.S. will be shaking their heads a little bit tonight.”
Terry Gannon – “Just like in 2014, the U.S. with a lot of work to do to come back.”

On Team Korea
Gannon – “Think about how difficult it is to make their Olympic team. You’ve got So Yeon Ryu, No. 12 in the world and not going to Rio.”
Stupples – “That’s amazing when you think about it. I struggle to comprehend how strong they are as a nation when it comes to their golf.”
Rankin – “And men’s golf is catching up, but women’s golf is still the leader as far as talent, records and the numbers of great players.”
