NBC SPORTS GROUP ACQUIRES YOUTH AND AMATEUR SPORTS TECHNOLOGY COMPANY “SPORT NGIN”

Company to be Re-branded “SportsEngine”

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 18, 2016 – NBC Sports Group today announced the acquisition of Sport Ngin, an industry leading sports technology platform in the youth and amateur sports participation market. Effective immediately, the company will be re-branded as SportsEngine.

Featuring a customer base of more than five million active users, SportsEngine’s suite of products help thousands of youth sports organizations improve the management of their operations and provide several valuable services for their athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers, and fans.

Founded in 2008 by co-founders Kaufenberg, Carson Kipfer and Greg Blasko, SportsEngine currently has more than 230 employees based out of the organization’s Minneapolis, Minn., headquarters. Kaufenberg and his executive management team, including his co-founders, will remain in place post-acquisition and will retain equity in the company alongside NBC Sports Group.
