STAMFORD, Conn. – June 7, 2016 – Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator headlines the field for the 148th Belmont Stakes this Saturday, June 11, at 5 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., begins Friday, June 10, at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN. In addition, NBCSN will present a pre-race show Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

Highlights of NBC Sports Group’s Belmont coverage include:

  • Bob Costas interviews Keith and Kent Desormeaux, the trainer and jockey who led the three-year-old Exaggerator to a Preakness Stakes win and more than $2 million in earnings;
  • Carolyn Manno examines the new challengers and returning horses from the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes;
  • A look back at American Pharaoh’s historic Triple Crown-clinching 2015 Belmont Stakes victory.

COMMENTATORS: NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Belmont Stakes features hosts Bob Costas, a 27-time Emmy Award-winner, and Tom Hammond; analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey, the Hall of Fame jockey and two-time Belmont Stakes winner; analysts/handicappers Bob Neumeier and Eddie Olczyk; NBCSN host/NBC reporter Laffit Pincay, III; reporters Kenny Rice, Donna Brothers, and Carolyn Manno; and race caller Larry Collmus.

The coordinating producer of NBC’s horse racing coverage is Rob Hyland, who has been a part of the network’s horse racing coverage since 2001. The Belmont Stakes is directed by Sunday Night Football and NBC Sports’ horse racing director, Drew Esocoff. The coverage on NBCSN is produced by Billy Matthews and directed by Pierre Moossa. The executive producer of NBC Sports and NBCSN is Sam Flood, who has produced 13 Triple Crown races for the network.

NBC Sports Radio will present two hours of live Belmont Stakes coverage beginning Saturday, June 11 at 5 p.m. ET. The program is produced in partnership with Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), and distributed by Westwood One. In addition, NBC Sports Radio will offer a three-hour pre-race show on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
