NBC Sports Live Extra Closes in on 15 Million Mobile App Downloads

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – is closing in on 15 million mobile app downloads through mid-May. In the past month, NBC Sports Live Extra streamed events including the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Premier League, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, Formula One, and more. NBC Sports Live Extra is powered by Playmaker Media.

Through last night’s San Jose Sharks-St. Louis Blues game, the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs on NBC Sports Live Extra have totaled 1.4 million unique visitors and 313.7 million minutes, up 11% and 84%, respectively, from the comparable period of the 2015 NHL Playoffs. In addition, NBC Sports Live Extra’s presentation of the Preakness Stakes ranks as the most streamed Preakness ever, delivering 3.1 million minutes, up 221% from last year.

NBA Draft Scores on Facebook Live for CSN Philly

The Philadelphia Sixers received the first pick in the NBA Draft after winning the Draft Lottery on Tuesday, May 14, and CSNPhilly.com brought 76ers fans all the action before, during and after the Draft Lottery. CSNPhilly’s Ron Burke and Dei Lynam went live on Facebook prior to the Lottery show, driving viewers to CSNPhilly’s coverage when the pick happened.  The Facebook Live video reached nearly 45,000 unique users.  Once the pick was announced, CSNPhilly posted a video from a local NBA Draft party on the sites’ social media channels, which received 330,000 views and had a reach of over one million people.

Video of Stephen Curry’s “Tunnel Shot” Ranks as Second-Most Viewed on CSN Bay Area’s Instagram

CSN Bay Area’s video of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s pregame ritual “tunnel shot,” available here, generated 131,000 views on the RSN’s Instagram account.  The video, shot prior to last Wednesday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, ranks as the account’s second-most viewed video, behind Curry’s reaction to Kobe Bryant scoring 60 points in his final NBA game (142,000 views, here).
