Four Olympic Medalists Scheduled to Compete in 2016 AVP Huntington Beach Open 

Second Tour Stop of 2016 AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Season

Stamford, Conn. – May 6, 2016 – NBCSN will present live coverage of the AVP Huntington Beach Open, the second AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour stop of the 2016 season, this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. In addition, NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets and connected TVs – will stream coverage of the tournament.

Beach volleyball’s biggest stars will take to the sand in Huntington Beach, Calif. for three days of main draw play. Players scheduled to compete include Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh Jennings and Phil Dalhausser, Olympic silver medalist April Ross, and two-time Olympian Jake Gibb. The Huntington Beach Open will also feature many up-and-coming stars, including Casey Patterson, Theo Brunner, Summer Ross, Emily Day, Tri Bourne, Lane Carico, Trevor Crabb, Robbie Page, and Amanda Dowdy.

Coverage of the AVP Huntington Beach Open will be a part of the more than 14 hours of AVP Tour coverage airing on NBC and NBCSN in 2016.

Veteran broadcaster and Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe will serve as the play-by-play announcer for NBCSN’s telecast. Marlowe will be joined by beach volleyball Olympian and three-time All-American Kevin Wong (analyst), and Olympic gold medalist Dain Blanton (reporter).
